ABOUT THE PROJECT

Work on Belfast’s newest film studio is taking place on locationat Giant’s Park, Belfast. The £20m project will include over 120,000 sq ft of studios, workshops and offices. The film studio will take up8 acres of the overall 340 acre Giant's Park/North Foreshore site.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

O’Hare & McGovern are committed to maximising local employment and training opportunities on this project. We have provided a placement opportunity for Michael Lennon, a student from Belfast Metropolitan College. We have a number of apprentice’s onsite via our sub-contractor SOS Joinery and Harvey Group, and have also provided jobs for the local long-term unemployed who have since been permanently hired. We also plan to organize a site visit post-production for the pupils and staff of local schools and colleges in Belfast, providing careers advice on jobs within the construction industry. Issues of concerns by local businesses and residents will be addressed immediately by O’Hare & Mc Govern

PROGRESS FOR OCTOBER 2016:

As you can see from the photograph below works are progressing rapidly and we are now closing in the last of our four buildings. The concrete flooring is completed to the three of the buildings with 300m3 to pour which will finish all floor slabs.

Externally we are currently building up the site to formation level and have completed the surfacing works to the rear of the main studio building.
