INVESTIGATION

The dreadful incident of day light robbery by motor cycle borne persons was alarming and keeping in view the gravity of the incident a special team comprising of officials of PS Rajouri Garden led by Inspr. Sunder Singh, SHO/Rajouri Garden under the supervision of Shri Parmaditya, ACP/Tilak Nagar was constituted to solve the case. The team re-visited the spot and all the concerned persons were interrogated to find out any clue and it was found that normally the cash which is deposited daily from PUMA showroom,West Gate Mall is not so much, however, on Monday collection of Saturday and Sunday is deposited in the Bank which is a huge amount. Therefore, accused planned to commit this robbery on Monday. Team suspected that an employee of PUMA showroom might have been involved in this robbery. On this point, all the staff members of PUMA showroom were interrogated in detail and enquiry was also conducted from the residential area of the staff members regarding their living style as well as general character. In addition to that other line of investigation was also followed as the complainant and Police constable Niyajuddin of PS Punjabi Bagh had chased the offending motorcycle and noted a number which was initially seemed to be doubtful as complainant had some doubt in regard to motorcycle. First he noticed that the motorcycle number plate was covered with mud and after chasing it, they noticed number of motorcycle as DL 7S AM 2014 Hero Honda.

The Police team comprising SI Ram Kishore, HC Kapil, Ct Shailender, Ct MM Khan and Ct Sudhir are deputed to work on this information. On finding the ownership it was found that the motorcycle has been soled by the registered owner through a mechanic. Through local enquiries, the team reached at the Sudhir Jain house where his wife did not co-operate. Due to sincere effort of the team, Sh.Sudhir Jain was traced and it was revealed that his son Akshey Jain is working in PUMA showroom West gate Mall, RajouriGarden.

Akshey Jain and his father Sudhir Jain were interrogated. Initially, they told a story that their motorcycle was stolen at 9 AM on 13.07.2009 .The report was lodged in PS Shakarpur after 3 PM. This statement seemed to be given an after thought to avoid from being caught in the present case. During sustained interrogation, Akshey Jain confessed of his crime and disclosed all the facts. It came out that he was working in this Puma Showroom for the last two months and was very well aware of daily cash collection. He was also aware of the fact that collection on Monday is more as Bank is closed on Sunday. Sudhir Jain who was in financial crisis hatched a conspiracy with his son and brother-in-law to rob the cash of Puma Showroom. For this purpose, they purchased two pistol shape lighters to threat the victim. They also recee the showroom and the route taken by the carrier. On the day of incident, they were waiting on a motorcycle near the showroom. After getting information from his son about the person taking cash for depositing in Bank they followed him and in between robbed the cash. Realizing that somebody is following them, they went inside roads of Raghubir Nagar area and was able to dodged the police but left the motorcycle abandoned in the area.
