3. District Director Report

  1. 160-170 docs signed up for SecureCare IPA in first month. Bharon has 3-4 more town hall meetings. Should hit 200 soon and will start negotiating for contracts with insurance companies.

B. OSCA is also negotiating for discounted electronic billing for docs to use.

4. ACA Report – Rick McMichael

  1. Go to OSCA convention. Great time to get together with other docs. Attendance used to be huge and docs would bring the whole family. OSCA working to make it great again.
  2. Just returned form House of Delegates meeting on Portland. Now the Immediate Past President of the ACA.
  3. IPA through OSCA is great idea, but be patient with it. May take time to win contracts. Future Health offers free EHR package for those looking. ACA signed a contract with Inifinidi clearinghouse to use their patient data to show the cost-effectiveness of our care.
  4. The summit has approved a united description of goals for health care reform and chiropractic. Packets of info will allow doctors to educate their legislators and decision makers with one consistent voice. OSCA needs to do this in Ohio.
  5. Working on full scope in Medicare. Scientists currently reanalyzing data to understand discrepancy in Chicago.
  6. Standard Process’ Charlie DuBoise donated another $5000 to CHAMP – very generous.
  7. Chirovoice – need 500-600 more in Ohio to be #1 in the country
  8. More states signing on as ACA affiliates. OSCA needs to do this to increase communication.

4. BWC Committee Report - Sprandel

  1. Complaint filed against Sheakley MCO for fraud to deny supportive care. ODG accepts new CCGPP guidelines that allow 1-4 visits/month for supportive care. Dr. Waldo also notes that if an injured worker is vital to an employer, you can contact the employer directly for their help in getting needed care approved.
  2. Phil Fulton, BWC attorney/expert will be coming to speak to us
  3. A reviewer has to provide all documents a decision was based on. If a claim was denied, ask them to submit a copy of all of these documents.

5. PPACA Committee Report - Wier

  1. PPACA has become a lower priority for the state. Our district will continue to move forward. We’ll hold a seminar that includes all forms and book, and how to use them simplified. It will be limited to 4 hours and CAs can attend free with doc.
