2009 Yearly Meeting in Wilmington

July 8 – 12, 2009

Tentative Young Friends Program

(age ranges are relative)

Notes:

·  Numbers (1., 2., 3. ) indicate number of volunteer adults needed for the activity. Please volunteer!

·  ‘Free time’ in schedule is at the request of the children – please don’t rush to find activities to fill those times.

·  Discernment activity Thursday evening – it is my hope that someone will come up with a quite activity that involves discovering what discernment is and teaches it from a Quaker perspective.

·  Bike rides – parents need to let me know if they will be able to bring bikes for children – if not I can change that activity to something else.

·  At present two groups are combined on one schedule (5 – 8 yrs and 9 – 13 yrs). If we have a large group we will need to split groups out or have more adult volunteers.

·  The salt marsh adventure was scheduled for summer 2007 and state budget cuts prevented doing it. If those free programs are not available in summer 2009 one of us will be ready to do it (maybe Bill O’Conner).

·  Teens – if teens want to drop some of the activities with the younger children and do something else they are welcome to make changes to their schedule. If teens would like to attend parts of the meetings for business with the adults they are welcome to do so.

Volunteer and/or send comments/ideas to Cheryl at
