In retirement he is serving as a substitute organist, performs with JUSTHREE BRASS, and plays in the Handbell Choir at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter, where he also serves as the Volunteer Archivist. Having toured three times with the Gustavus Wind Ensemble to Central Europe, he will again travel with them as an instructor in January 2014. Locally, Dr. Fienen has frequently appeared as keyboardist with the Mankato Symphony, St. Peter Choral Society, and Musicorum.
