We are seeking Management Board candidates who have a heart for the Lord and all of God's children; who are ministry-minded, bridge-building, people-persons; who have experienced a calling to advance the Kingdom with a broad vision and open arms for all of the Foundry community we are trusted to serve. Instructions for Applications. Please fill out theapplication form and return it to as soon as possible, but no later than Sunday, May 17, 2015. Church records may be checked to confirm the information provided on your Board Member application, including membership, financial contribution and activity involvement. By submitting this application you consent to such verification. You may be contacted to schedule an interview with representatives of the Governance Committeeor Management Board. Section 1. Board Member Gifts and Graces

  • Compassion (love for Jesus, Jesus’ people, and Jesus’ mission).
  • Competence (skills consistent with human resources, operations and stewardship).
  • Creativity (ability to look at the total of God’s resources and bring the best into the church).
  • Demonstrated financial commitment to Foundry United Methodist Church.
  • Demonstrated commitment and experience in serving in more than one/several areas of ministry and mission at Foundry.
  • Availability to devote at least 15 hours per month, plus one annual retreat to Board business.

Section 2. Skills of the Board Members

Some Board Members should have expertise in one or more of these areas:

  • Human Resource Development: Personnel management, hiring, training, salary structure.
  • Operations Development: Facility/site development, legal counsel, communication.
  • Stewardship Development: Internal and external funding, budgets, congregational stewardship.
  • Legal Analysis: Consideration of relevant legal issues.
  • Financial Management: Assessing financial priorities and operations.

Standing Board Committees:In addition to the Executive Committee there are four standing Committees of the Board (specific duties of each are stated in the Board’s Bylaws):

Finance Committee. The Treasurer is chair of the Finance Committee. The purpose of the Finance Committee is to oversee Foundry’s financial performance and establish financial management practices as needed.

Personnel Committee. The purpose of the Personnel Committee is to oversee Foundry’s human resources.

Facilities and Operations Committee. The purpose of the Facilities and Operations Committee is to oversee Foundry’s building, grounds, and other infrastructure.

Governance Committee. The purpose of the Governance Committee is to provide policy guidance and recommend revisions and changes in governing authority as needed, and to nominate new Board member candidates.
