NOISE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME

Noise Singapore 2006 presented a new component called the Apprenticeship Programme. Young artists aged 25 and below were invited to apply for an Apprenticeship Programme that lasted for 7 weeks from 15 June to30 July 2006.

Applicants had to submit a 1-page write-up and a portfolio of at least 5 works. Successful apprentices were attached to Industry Professionals (mentors), from whom they received a project brief and worked on an assigned project. Applications opened on 9 May 2006 and closed on 4 June 20006.

There were a total of 26 Apprentices - 14 under Art & Design, 6 under Music and 6 under Photography. Apprentices Alex Toh and Auburn’s Epiphany – a young band - were chosen to be featured on MTV Asia Channel by sponsor StarHub.
