2-27-03 AVP Stampp verbally reported to Senate she did not propose the creation of a reserve fund with the budget committee – an increase in the number of funded sabbaticals are planned over next few years.
10-8-03 AVP memo she current budget assumptions propose a total of 18 sabbaticals per year by FY06 – that is to be the maximum number of faculty on leave without seriously and adversely affecting the teaching mission of SMC.

AVP to forward to the President, Section 2 requiring the President to respond within 60 calendar days.
2-27-03 Senate not in agreement with AVP’s suggested revision. Senate proposed “in writing within 60 calendar days excluding the summer months” AVP suggested the easiest time for her office to respond to Senate actions is in January for fall actions, and September for spring actions.
10-9-03 Senate recommended new revision, “within 60 calendar days unless that period elapses while the Academic Senate is not in session. In the latter case, action is expected by the next Senate meeting.”
