1.PRAYER/ MEDITATION

The Speaker, Hon. Maloyi presided and asked the House to observe a moment of silence for prayer or meditation.

2.MINUTES OF THE 17th AUGUST 2010

The Hon. Speaker tabled the minutes of the previous Sitting before the House for adoption. The House adopted the minutes as a correct record of proceedings for that day.

3.Motions:

a).Motions without notice

-None wastabled.

b).Notices of motions

The Hon. Speaker informed the House that he received an apology from Hon. Num and as a result of that, the notice of motion that she placed in the Sitting of the 17th August 2010, shall lapse in terms of Rule 188 of the Standing Rules.

Hon Hattingh Placed a notice of motion to welcome the announcement made by the Hon. Premier about the progress made on the forensic investigations, however he mentioned that Members of the Legislature only learned about the report through media, as the Premier did not provide or tabled a preliminary report in the House.

4.Interpellations and Questions.

[20100824-O10] This question was responded by The MEC Mohono on behalf of the MEC Mahlakeng. The House agreed that this question should remain on the questions paper as there was a follow-up question, which MEC Mohono was unable to respond to.

[20100803-W21] This questions was tabled for the third time, The MEC Mabe informed the House that she had responded to thequestion. The Hon. Speaker indicated that the question required attachments which the MEC did not provide during her response, hence the question appeared on the question paper. In terms of Rule 143 this question shall be directed to the Premier.

Hon. Elisha rose on a point of order against Hon. Hattingh for using unparliamentary language in terms of Rule 95, as he referred to the MEC Mabe as a liar, Hon. Hattingh withdrew his utterances to the MEC Mabe.

6.Announcements, Tablings and Committee Reports

(i)Tablings

a)TheSpeaker tabled the PSC Report on theConsolidated Public Service Monitoring and Evaluation Report for the North West Province 2009/10. He further announced that there will be a round table discussions on this report on the 21st September 2010, all Members are expected to attend.

The above PSC report was referred to the Portfolio Committee on Provincial Affairs and Public Safety.

(b) Hon. Mothupi tabled the following reports for Member’s

information:

(i)Oversight report at Mafikeng Youth Centre : BOSASA

(ii)Oversight report on Gender Issues at Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality.

7.Closure

The Speaker, Hon. Maloyi adjourned the House at 10h44until the 14th September 2010 at 10:00.
