Introduction
An important component of NIDCAP training and developmental care education is consultation to individual NIDCAP Professionals-in-Training in terms of guiding their understanding of themselves, their history, strengths, challenges, and their goals and aspirations.
Following is a document that provides a format for the suggested structure of consultation and guidance with an individual NIDCAP Professional-in-Training.

Part III: Feedback and Planning
Integrate your and the NIDCAP Professional’s-in-Trainingself-assessment, and formulate jointly next steps with integration into the bigger picture of the nursery. Develop an anticipated time line.
A.Give feedback to the NIDCAP Professional-in-Training regarding the strengths you identified in the NIDCAP Professional-in-Training and articulate their value in support of the NIDCAP Professional’s-in-Training self stated goals.
