Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge? If so, an opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the NHS Fife Child Protection Nursing Team.

You should have extensive experience of working directly with children, young people and their families within a child protection context as well as a sound knowledge of child protection research, guidance, legislation and policies. You should have a high level of communication, organisational and leadership skills and have the ability to work within a team, with partner agencies and on your own initiative.

If successful your key tasks include offering high level support and advice to Health staff; be actively involved in multi-agency Initial Referral Discussions; deliver specialist child protection training to health staff and contribute to the delivery of multi-agency training. Another core task is the coordination and facilitation of group and case specific child protection clinical supervision within a variety of settings across NHS Fife delivered to a range of health-care professionals.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to work as a Frailty Nurse Practitioner within our Integrated Assessment Team. Early identification, effective assessment and management of frailty have been identified as significant priorities for NHS Fife to optimise patient outcomes. The Integrated Assessment team is a rapidly developing multidisciplinary team which provides comprehensive assessment for patients who are identified as having frailty syndromes to ensure effective identification of patient pathways and destination of care is reached in a timely manner. You should be a qualified Nurse with significant acute care experience with a genuine interest in working with older people and a keen desire to develop within the service. Nurse Prescribing and clinical decision making qualifications are an ultimate requirement for this post and you will be expected to work towards obtaining these skills.

You should have evidence of significant post registration professional practice experience to undertake and fulfil the key areas for this post including completion of relevant postgraduate courses to Masters degree level, or working towards Master degree level or ability to demonstrate working at Masters degree level appropriate to clinical area.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners who already possess the non-medical prescribing and clinical assessment skills qualifications. We will however consider staff with suitable experience of working within this area of practice who have a desire to develop and become a Nurse Practitioner through completion of the above qualifications. During this time you will be paid in accordance with Annex 20 arrangements for pay and banding of trainees.

This post will be based within Integrated Assessment Team who provide cover in Admissions Unit 1 which comprises 37 beds and 7 Assessment trolleys, but the team provide support to all front door areas, i.e. Emergency Department and Acute Surgical Unit.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse to work within Older People In Patient Services within The Stroke Rehabilitation Unit Cameron Hospital. Letham consists of 14 beds providing hospital based care to patients who are transferred from within NHS Fife and other Health Boards. You will be a first level nurse, committed to working towards a degree or further academic qualifications. You should have a record of strong clinical leadership and service development demonstrating excellent communication and clinical decision making skills. Staff resource management and leadership is key to the role and as part of the Quality Strategy, and as such you will be expected to lead a team within a culture of Caring Behaviours to provide safe, effective, person centered care. We are seeking a Health Protection Nurse to work within the Health Protection Team. You will be based in the Department of Public Health at Cameron House and work closely with Health Protection Nurse Specialists and Consultants in Public Health Medicine.

You must be on the General Nursing and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse parts of the NMC Register, have a relevant first level degree/post-registration qualification and be able to demonstrate evidence of further professional development. You must be willing to undergo further training to advance your skills and knowledge.

You must have extensive post-registration experience. Community experience, and practical experience in the field of Public Health Nursing/Infection Control is desirable and experience in communicable disease and TB control would be advantageous.

You must have good analytical, judgemental, communication and computer skills. Being able to travel efficiently throughout Fife, and work autonomously and in a team are essential. You should be self-motivated and innovative.

EMERGENCY CARE DIRECTORATE – WARD 15

CHARGE NURSE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Charge Nurse in Ward 15 Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy.

Ward 15 is a 26 bedded Acute Medicine of the Elderly ward which specialises in the acute care of patients with frailty syndromes.

You will be a Registered Nurse educated to degree level or equivalent with significant post registration experience.

You will help drive local and national practice developments and demonstrate a commitment to leading person centred, safe and effective care to enable delivery of a positive experience of care for those persons who require this level of inpatient care.

With the increasing number of frail older people in the population, there is a real focus on how Health and Social Care partners work together to support older people. The multidisciplinary team in Medicine of the Elderly works closely with the front door Frailty Team and the Discharge Hub to ensure person-centred care for frail patients through proactive management of the inpatient journey and discharge with appropriate support.

You will be required to work flexible shifts including days, nights and weekends. As part of the Emergency Care Directorate you will be required to fulfill the role of Duty Charge Nurse for the directorate on a rotational basis.
