The NH Bureau of Education and Training (BET) is pleased to announce the launch of a revised certificate in Human Resources (HR) for staff who want to build careers in this field.

The HR Certificate Program will provide a foundation in human resource management at the technical, operational, relationship, and strategic levels. Participants will engage in discussions about key HR topics, learn about HR transactions, and practice the skills necessary to meet the many demands of this profession.

Program overview:

The HR Certificate Program consists of fourteen days of training scheduled over 11 months. Each session provides specific information about a HR topic and is taught through a combination of lecture, discussion, and interactive exercises. After each session, participants considera specific case study or HR challenge to share with the group at the beginning of the next session. These outside class exercises form the basis of a capstone project for each participant.

Throughout the program, participants engage in topics as emerging HR professionals, considering their roles in areas of compliance, consulting, and strategic advocacy. Staff from State HR offices and other relevant speakers offer real-life experiences with these topics and share their expertise for handling them. Participants also learn how to complete HR transactions in NH First/Sunspot and how to research policies and procedures on nh.gov. HR ethics are woven into discussions throughout the program.
