Vacancy – Anglican Ordained Chaplain at HMP Berwyn in Wrexham.Please follow the link to for vacancy details. Althoughthe initial job adverts are for ordained priests, The Rev Alan Pierce-Jones (who is currently covering the role of the Managing Chaplain) would still like to hear from anydeacons or lay people interested in working with the chaplaincy ere will also be lots of opportunities for volunteers to assist at worship, lead study groups and provide general pastoral care. Charity Clothes Swap - Get set to swap your way to a new wardrobe. Dig out any unwanted items and get your swish on. Ladies clothes, shoes, bags and accessories. Friday 8 April 7pm -9pm at Church House Llanrwst. Admission £10 to include glass of sparkling wine and nibbles. Bring along at least 1 quality item that you would like to swap. Thanksgiving & Blessing Service for Pets used in Therapeutic Roles.
St. Margaret's, Bodelwyddan on 10 April at 11.00am. The pets will be from numerous charities: Therapy Charity, Therapy Dogs Nationwide a new recently formed charity and dogs from PAT (Pets As Therapy) a long established charity and possibly some from Canine Concern another established charity.
Dogs from all the charities visit hospitals, care homes, day care centres, schools and colleges; also prisons and courts. They provide comfort, therapy and happiness to those they visit.

“An Evening of Music & Laughter” at St Cystennin's Church, Mochdre - Wednesday 13 April at 7pm. Come and sing along with the Colwyn Bay Ukulele Group, chuckle at monologues by Mike Wise, listen to Parti Llan & smile at Pam Ayres readings read by Doreen Brenin. There will be no charge at the door but donations will be welcome for church funds.

Leading School Worship, Tuesday 12 April, 7-9pm in St Joseph’s Catholic and Anglican High School, Wrexham. Mental Wellbeing and Spirituality Symposium with Keynote Speaker – Mark Yaconelli.
Should we in the Diocese of St Asaph seek to change attitudes, challenge stigma, encourage inclusion and promote social justice in the area of metal wellbeing and spirituality? The symposium will, through presentations, workshops and open discussion, look at what this might mean in practical terms and how we can be guided in theology and prayer. 11 May, 10am-4pm in Llangollen Pavilion. This event is relevant to all and is free of charge. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

ACAT Foundation Course for Treasurers. The Association of Church Accountants and Treasurers is running a Foundation Course in Chester on Saturday 11 June. Extinguishing ashes from incense (or any other ashes) - Please can you encourage everyone responsible for disposing of ashes from incense (or anywhere else) of the importance of ensuring they are extinguished completely and safely.
We've had a report from visitors to one church who found a waste paper basket smouldering after ashes were discarded without being completely extinguished. It was only their quick thinking which prevented a potentially serious fire.
Vacancy – The Children’s Society “Children and Family policy adviser”. Based at the Church in Wales, Cardiff the role will build the Children’s Society and the Church in Wales policy influence in Wales to improve policies and practice for children in Wales facing poverty and neglect. The historic parish church of St. Llwchaiarn, Llanllwchaiarn, in the Cedewain mission area of St Asaph Diocese, will once again be open to visitors on a number of Saturday afternoons in 2016. St. Llwchaiarn's, is situated about one mile from the centre of Newtown on the road to Aberbechan. The Church will be open from 2pm to 4pm on the following dates:

Job opportunity – Youth and community organiser
TCC is currently recruiting for someone who can support young people to take action on issues affecting their lives. The youth and community organiser will lead TCC's youth work, working in schools, faith groups, and communities in North East Wales to develop a programme which will train young people as community leaders. The Hearth Project – “A Stranger in a Strange Land”
As part of Mark Yaconelli’s residency with the Diocese of St Asaph, we are planning an event to raise awareness of the plight of refugees and would like to hear your story of seeking sanctuary in a new country. The Hearth Project brings people together to hear true stories from real people to shed light on different experiences, to encourage empathy and build human connectedness. We’re looking for six people to tell their story of being “A Stranger in a strange land”. You will be supported and assisted by Mark to tell your story as part of the Hearth Project at Llangollen Pavilion on July, 29.

Only a few weeks remain for artists and photographers to submit entries for the week-long annual Virgin Art exhibition at Mold’s ancient St.Mary’s Parish Church. “Rediscovering the Laity” Public TheologyStudy Day at Carrs Lane Church, Birmingham. Tuesday 3 May, beginning with tea / coffee at 10.30am and ending at 3.30pm. Keynote speaker Professor Elaine Graham, Grosvenor Research Professor of the University of Chester. This study day aims to address the concern that the laity has been sideline and neglected.There is no charge for the day but please reserve a place; places booked on first come first serve basis and are limited. Living out of the voice of God, led by Mark Virkler will take place in St Michael's Church,Aberystwython the 6th and 7th May. Mark Virkler, founder of ‘Communion with God’ ministries, is a gifted teacher and helps people not simply to study God but to encounter God. Cost £40. More details on the flyer circulated previously.
Llanelian Spring Fair - 14 May, 12- 4pm, and we would like now to invite entries to our: Llanelian Spring Fair Art Challenge 2016. The title for this year is 'All Creatures Great And Small' The first prize for the all-over winner is £100, with other prizes for children. The winner's cup (and the cash!) will be presented at the Fair at 3.30pm.Entries can be in any medium at all, and under-14s are most welcome to enter.There is a £1 entry fee for all under-14 entries, and £3 for each adult entry.
