NEWMAN OUTBACK DRAGS 2007 RULES AND CONDITIONS:

Non Acceptance of Entries: Newman Outback Drags Inc. reserves the right to refuse any entry without any reason being given.

Entry to Venue: STRICTLY NO ENTRANCE TO PITS OR SPECTATOR AREA UNTIL 10AM. NO SCRUTINEERING AT AIRPORT.

Pets:No pets are allowed within the Newman Airport grounds.

Competitor and Pit Crew Indemnity: All competitors, including crew, must report to the credentials office prior to competition to sign indemnity forms.

Pit Passes: Entrant pass allocation is as follows: 3 passes allocated – entrant/driver plus 2 pit crew.

CLOSED IN SHOES ARE TO BE COMPULSORY IN THE PIT AREA.

Scrutineering: All vehicles reporting to scrutineering should be race ready with appropriate credentials, helmets, clothing and any other equipment as required under the ANDRA rules.

Burnouts:BURNOUTS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE RUNWAY. Any burnouts will result in instant disqualification and removal of your vehicle from the Newman Airport grounds. Newman Airport has only one runway, and we must ensure this asset is protected. (A burnout competition is held at Hillview Speedway on Saturday evening.)

On track breakages: Any competitor whose vehicle aborts a run due to breakage or suspected equipment failure must pull to the outside of the lane immediately to minimise the possibility of oil downs or track damage.

Qualifying: It is the responsibility of the entrant to report for qualifying 5 minutes prior to the estimated time shown on the qualifying schedule.

Alcohol/Drugs: No illegal substances or alcohol may be consumed in the Newman Airport grounds before, during or after the event. Immediate disqualification from race meetings will result. This applies to all persons - entrants, crew, officials and spectators. Also competitors, pit crew or officials must not consume drugs or alcohol during the 8 hours preceding the advertised time of the commencement of qualifying.

ALL ENTRANTS WILL BE BREATH TESTED BEFORE RACING COMMENCES. BREATH READING MUST BE 0.00 – ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS.

Smoking: Smoking will be permitted in designated areas only.

*MOTORCYCLISTS PLEASE NOTE: ANY RIDER NOT WEARING FULL LEATHERS WILL BE INELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS UNDER THE ANDRA PERSONAL ACCIDENT COVER.

Trophy Presentation: Trophy presentation will take place on Sunday 19th August at Capricorn Oval, where the Fortescue Festival fair and activities take place. The time is to be advised at the event.

The Newman Outback Drags will be held under the rules of the Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA). The organisers by accepting the entry of any car, motorcycle or other vehicle or by allowing any vehicle to participate in the event shall not be deemed to warrant or guarantee the competency of any drivers or mechanics participating in the event or any officials appointed for the supervision of the event pursuant to these rules, or the efficiency or mechanical soundness of any car, motorcycle or other vehicle entered for and taking part in the event, or that the strip for the event is in a safe condition for racing, or competitive driving, or that such strip or any part thereof shall be free from spectators or any obstacles or that the rules governing said event shall be observed by any other entrant, driver or mechanic therein.

MOTOR RACING IS DANGEROUS

Spectators, participants or guests are warned that Motor Racing is dangerous and accidents can happen. All care is taken to protect the public but spectators, participants and guests entering the Pit Area are warned that there is a possibility of an accident causing injury, death, or property damage. By purchasing and/or using a ticket, official pass or stamped symbol that permits entry to the event and/or the Pit Area, the spectator, participant or guest acknowledges that entry to the venue at which the event is held, and the Pit Area, has a degree of danger and the owners, promoters, clubs, corporations, organisations, participants and other persons having any connection with the promoting, organising or conduct of the event shall have no liability, either by tort or by contract, for any personal injury or loss of property, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the spectator, participant or guest, except in regard to any rights those persons may have arising under the Trade Practices Act 1974.

NOTE: The organisers reserve the right to change/alter entry or race procedure at any time as deemed necessary.
