o  If child is playing multiple sports or on multiple basketball teams, we expect this team to come first

·  Players and Parents will sign Code of Conduct forms

·  Any issues, concerns, ideas should be brought first to Head Coach and then to the NTBA Board if no improvement or resolution not to your liking.

·  All of us play a role in working together to make NTBA season a success!

Player Selection Process

·  Tryouts are Closed to everyone other than evaluators

·  Players should attend at least two of the three tryout dates.

o  If you cannot make this commitment, it will be difficult to assess the player compared with others who have attended two or three tryout dates.

·  Evaluators are made up of Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, other Board members, and other respected individuals outside of NTBA

·  Players are given a tryout jersey with a number on it.

·  Players are rated based on basketball skills such as Dribbling (left & right hands), Passing, Shooting, Rebounding, and Defense

·  Players are also assessed on intangible skills such as game awareness, attitude, and coachability.

·  Coaches and Board Members will not be evaluating their own child

·  Player Selection is made based on ratings and assessments from all evaluators.

·  Final decisions will be posted by Sunday, October 27 on Newington Team pages of CBTBL website – www.cbtbl.com (select Grade and then Newington).

o  Tryout #’s will be posted for the players that make the team. Individual names will not be posted. Example, for Boys’ 5th grade, it might say “B5-15” or for Boy’s 7th grade it might say “B7-22”
