NEWBRIDGE ATHLETIC CLUB

APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP 2014

Athletics has become a popular form of activity in recent years with a considerable increase in our membership year on year. It is no longer considered practical to be collecting membership application forms from athletes on an ad-hoc week-by-week basis. This generates extra work for voluntary officials in the club who are responsible for collecting and registering athletes with Athletic Ireland. The start date of registration of athletes for 2014 with Athletic Ireland commences on 1st December 2013 as competition entries will have to be completed by mid January 2014 for indoor competitions.

Also for insurance reasons, we cannot have unregistered athletes using the club facilities and therefore we need to start the registration process in November 2013 and complete registrations for existing members in advance of the commencement of training in January 2014. Membership is from January 1st 2014 to 31st December 2014 and it is therefore illogical to have an athlete using the club facilities without being registered and thereby covered for insurance.

We also have waiting lists, especially in the younger age groups and we need to know the numbers that are going to register in 2014 in order to advise those on the waiting list if there will be a place for them. We are limited in our membership numbers at the club based on the number of official coaches and training space requirements.

Coaches and officials in the club will be supplying new membership forms at training sessions in November 2013. Please take a membership form and return the form with payment to your coach or club official. If anyone has difficulty in making the payment for financial reasons please speak in advance to Pat Kyne club registrar at 087-8255604. Pat is responsible for registrations and discussions will be kept in complete confidence.
