Dude, Where’s Your Bank?

Intermediate

Judd Holroyde, Vice President Market and Product Strategy, Wells Fargo Bank

Julie Miller, Treasury Manager, Best Buy

Session Description

When was the last time you walked into your Treasury Management bank? With all the recent mergers and headquarters relocations, do you even know where it is? It’s amazing how quickly we let go of something once held so dear. The bank, with its imposing exterior and massive vault, has long symbolized strength, solidity, rootedness. Today, you’re more likely to enter it through an URL than a row of ionic columns. Multiple, convergent factors are changing banks’ geography, literally and functionally: mergers and acquisitions; Check 21 legislation; Internet; electronic payment; and image technology among them. Perhaps it’s time to take a fresh look at what you expect from a commercial bank and how - or if - its bricks and mortar figure into your needs.

In this session, we will evaluate when a physical bank is required, advantageous, and unnecessary. We’ll weigh the importance of system and platform integration versus geographic footprint. We’ll look at the actual and virtual ways you can connect to your bank today. And we’ll enumerate the banking options available to you now, wherever you are.

Working in close partnership with customers and product management, his team helps to ensure that Wells Fargo’s Treasury Management solutions meet the evolving needs of customers and markets.
