New state-of-the-art medical equipment for Gympie Private Hospital

The only private hospital in Gympie has again proven why it is a leader of quality medical services in the region with the purchase of new state-of-the-art medical equipment.

Gympie Private Hospital today announced it had purchased an Arthrex Synergy HD3 Imaging System, which provides a surgeon with enhanced observation while a patient is undergoing keyhole surgery.

The operating equipment also allows the surgeon to easily capture images during surgical procedures, all of which assist doctors ensure the provision of quality care for their patients.

In a further coup for the hospital, a new specialist - gynaecologist, Dr Sajid Malek - started consulting at the facility this month.

“These are exciting times at the hospital,” Gympie Private Hospital General Manager, Ms Helen Chalmers, said today.

“This latest theatre equipment allows the Hospital to provide a greater range of services to more people requiring surgery, and importantly, for them to be treated locally – something we find that is a great comfort to them and their families,” she said.

“It also means a boost for the local economy as these patients and their families do not need to leave the area for their medical needs.

“We are also delighted to be able to secure the professional services of Dr Malek, who allows us to expand on the medical and specialist services we already offer.”

Ms Chalmers said Pulse Health - the operator of Gympie Private Hospital – was committed to providing the best patient care for the Gympie community.

She said Gympie Private Hospital – which performs more than 2500 operations a year – offered a range of surgical services including general surgery, endoscopy, ear nose and throat surgery, urology, cosmetic surgery, dental and ophthalmology, as well as inpatient medical services and palliative care.

The Arthrex Synergy HD3 System integrates three components - high definition cameras, LED lighting and an image management system – all tied into one console that uses an Apple iPad tablet interface.

Having one console and one interface simplifies the use of the system, and the ability to accommodate the individual preferences of the surgeons that use it.
