IV. President Waller stated that the committee reviews for programs and goals would be tabled
until January.
V. The minutes from November were reviewed. Jim Lambert motioned to approve the minutes.
Chaplain Proffitt seconded the motion and the minutes were approved.
VI. Old Business:
An update was given on the Alpha Ministries. There will be an organizational meeting on
January 4th, 2001for the leadership team at Frontier Chapel at 1800 hours. The first Thursday
meeting for Alpha Ministries will be January 11th, 2001 at Frontier Chapel at 1800 hours.
Organizers are looking for group leaders and assistance for varying types of work. Childcare
will be provided. NPC has been designated as the Prayer Center for Alpha Ministries and
other outreach programs. Beginning in January, the chapel will be open during the noontime
for prayer.
VII. New Business:
President Waller stated that he had asked COL. Cline to fill the vacancy of the Outreach
Chairperson. Jim Lambert motioned that to have COL. Cline fill the vacancy. Stoney
Whetstone seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
President Waller addressed the need for a nominating committee for the next Parrish
Council. Jim Lambert, Stoney Whetstone, and Marie Strickland volunteered to serve on the
committee. President Waller appointed them as the committee and asked them to present a
slate of nominees at the March meeting.
President Waller addressed the subject of committee goals and objectives. This will be the
primary objective for the January meeting. Committee chairpersons will need to discuss
goals for the remainder of their terms. Chairpersons are asked to address how the goals
relate to outreach. Jim Lambert suggested that we address how each committee could
incorporate Alpha Ministries.
A. Calendars:
Changes and additions were made to the January, February and March calendars.
B. Committee Reports:
Worship – none
Music and Special Services – The Messiah concert will be aired on KVRS on
Christmas Eve. The Joyful Noise Choir will begin again in January. December 31st
will be a choir holiday. On Sunday, December 24th the choir will sing at the 1100
service and at the two Christmas Eve services. February will not be available for a
Ballet Magnificat designated offering; Chaplain Proffitt will be looking into possible
months for this offering.
Fellowship – A new place is needed for the February potluck.
Outreach – none
Stewardship – (see report) Upcoming designated offerings were reviewed. It was
suggested that the KVRS offering be moved to June and August be used for Ballet
Magnificat. Jim Lambert motioned to approve the new list of offerings. Stoney
Whetstone seconded. The motion was approved.
Equipment and Facilities – A January meeting is in the planning.
Visitation – Taki Fyler reported on recent cards and visits. The Flower Ministry will not
meet again until January. There was discussion of the follow-up for visitors to NPC.
Religious Education – none
- NCOIC – SGT Browning commented on available funding. President Waller asked
that the Worship Committee consider the purchase of more Bibles and that the
Music and Special Services Committee consider the purchase of more hymnals. He
asked that the committees present proposals at the next meeting. All committees
will need to consider possibilities for available funds when setting goals for the
remainder of the year.
D. Chaplain Johnston asked that we please continue to pray for the many programs at Ft.
Sill. Chaplain Proffitt wished everyone a Merry Christmas and asked that we pray
that people will respond to the invitation to accept Jesus.
- President Waller noted that the next meeting will be on January 16th, 2001.
