For Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, the2014 São Paulo International Auto Show celebrates an important growth phase for the brand. Outstanding launches, such as CLA and GLA, in addition to the totally new version of the C-Class sedan, top selling model worldwide, were the highlightsof this year.

The brand has achieved the best results of its history this year, reaching sales records. In the last month, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil registered sales of963 units, representing a 45% increase when compared with the same month last year. From January to October 2014, the company sold 8,614 units (covering up to October,23rd), which represents an effective increase of 18% in the number of vehicles of the brand licensed in the segment versus 7,284 vehicles sold in the same period of 2013.

Another important evolution throughout the year occurred with AMG, the high-performance brand of Mercedes-Benz, which increased considerably its sales in the country. All in all, 314 units were sold until the first half of October versus 269 upon the closing of 2013. This fact led to the expansion in the number of AMG Performance Centers, which are Dealers trained specifically to service the demanding public of AMG, from 8 to 11 throughout the country. Concentrated in the Rio de Janeiro/São Paulo regions until 2012, the new specialized centers are now strategically located in Brasília, Minas GeraisandCeará, which are places where there is a large expansion in this market.

The Dealers network is also experiencing a remarkable expansion time. In two years, it jumped from 32 to 47units until the end of 2014, with many othersto come by the next year. In addition to providing better services to customers, the network expansion also reflects the brand preparation to increase its presence in the market, with the start-up of operations of the new Iracemápolis plant, in the countryside region of the state of São Paulo, which works are in the initial phase. The new plant will produce the C-Class andthe SUV GLA models as from 2016.

“2014 represents a very large growth for the brand. In addition to the expansion of the Dealers’ network until the end of the year, we will complete 17 launches on the Brazilian market. By doing this, our expectation is exceeding 11,000 units sold until December,” states Dimitris Psillakis, managingdirector Passenger Cars at Mercedes-Benz do Brasil.

Declared overhaul and CDC Flexibility programs

By aiming to forecast the maintenance cost of vehicles of the brand to customers, and keep their loyalty with the accredited shops, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil launched in August a declared overhaul program for the entry models of the brand.

By establishing fixed prices for overhauls, the program is already implemented throughout the Dealers’ network in Brazil and coversA-Class, B-Class and CLA models, in addition to the newly launched C-Class and GLA. Another novelty for these models is the CDC Flexibility program of Banco Mercedes-Benz. This is a flexible financing plan, with reduced down payment value, lower installment values when compared with conventional plans and guarantee of purchase of the vehicle by Mercedes-Benz Dealers at the end of the contract.
