New Mobile Search Tool Helps Visitors Find

Dayton, June 14, 2012 ― The Downtown Dayton Partnership has launched Find It Downtown Mobile, a convenient downtown search tool that functions like a mobile app on iPhones, Droids and other smartphones.

Using Find it Downtown Mobile, visitors can locate downtown dining, nightlife, parking, shopping, arts and more on their smartphones. The tool allows users to see which businesses and amenities are near their current location at a given moment or browse all downtown destinations by category. Contact info, details and directions to each business also are available, as well as a searchable calendar of hundreds of downtown events.

“Find It Downtown Mobile is one of the priorities of the Greater Downtown Dayton Plan because it will enhance the visitor experience downtown,” said Sandy Gudorf, president of the Downtown Dayton Partnership. “This mobile-friendly search tool is a key part of Greater Downtown Dayton Plan strategy to better connect visitors with downtown’s many arts, entertainment and recreation assets and events, as well as the Plan strategy to help downtown function as a comprehensive arts and entertainment district.”

The Greater Downtown Dayton Plan is a multipronged economic development initiative and strategic blueprint for Dayton’s center city. Greater Downtown is one of two regional centers of economic activity for the Dayton region, with approximately $5 billion a year in regional economic impact. A vibrant, thriving center city is crucial to the prosperity of the City of Dayton and Dayton region. The Greater Downtown Dayton Plan calls for building on downtown’s strengths to create the type of vibrant, bustling city increasingly in demand today.
