Minutes for May 5, 2010 Board Meeting

Attendees: Bill Thornton, Tom Haydock, Bob Willey, John Ferreira, Dan Roberge Doug Thomas, Candia Campbell, Mark Ruest, Mark Sadler, Sonia Snelgrove, Ric Marion, Angela Nieland, Carla Nastri

Meeting called to order at 6:30PM

Secretary Report: candia campbell made a motion to accept minutes, seconded by Doug Thomas, May board meeting minutes accepted.

Presidents Report:: No written report submitted.

We need to increase our membership numbers. Adidas would like a 6% increase over the 2006 base. If everyone reports what is coming in, Region 1 we will be up 103%. PA’s membership numbers are down. If Adidas were to drop the contract with Region 1, many programs would be cut, ODP could change, National Championships could change as well. All programs would be affected. The impact to replace those funds would be up to $1.00 per player. NHSA needs to increase membership by June 1st.

Treasurers Report: Written report submitted.

NHSA needs to pay Pullen and U.S. Youth Soccer. Approximate outstanding balance is $52,000. Waiting for numbers from Seacoast League. Motion to accept budget for audit made by Bob Willey, second by candia campbell. Motion passed.

Executive VP:

Recreation VP: Written report submitted.

Tom spoke about youth soccer month which is scheduled for Sunday, September 26th. Suggested we put the date on scrolling page of the web now to get it out. The Recreation page on the NHSA website needs to be updated. Tom will work that. Bill welcomed Tom to the NHSA Board.

Competitive VP: Written report submitted.

Adult VP: No written report submitted.

Dan met with NHIA. 160 players and G.S. Women plan to expand the league. Too detailed to go into so Dan will attempt to write something up.

State Coach of Education: Written Report Submitted

State Coach of ODP: Written report submitted.

College Showcase night is Wednesday, May 26th

State Referee: Committee: Written report submitted

State Administrator: Written report submitted .

Motion to discuss moving to another office made by John Ferreira and seconded by candia campbell. Discussion as to whether this is an advantageous move for the state. Vote taken. Unanimous vote.

State Registrar: Written report submitted.

Ric is waiting on Seacoast league to submit spring teams. Nottingham ???

Risk Management: E7 sent us what we assume will be our final invoice. The link is no longer active. Ric will give a copy of the database to Got Soccer so that they can set up and go live soon.

VP Indoor: No report submitted.

System Administrator: No report submitted.

Website will need to be done from the beginning. Got Soccer can start copying the data over but it will take approximately thirty days. Mid July would be a good time to switch over.

Need a database from Seacoast League. Angela needs the rosters from Seacoast League so that they can do the registration. It needs to be all set up now.

New Business

NE Revolution and Breakers. The date for NH night at the New England Revolution will be August 28th. The Rev’s rep would like the NH night to be done a little differently. We would like to do a 3v3 tournament. The ticket prices would be $21.00. He wants us to do 300 tickets. Have a 3v3 tournament. They will also do a tailgating party where a few of the Rev’s players will show up. Doug said to ask Rev’s rep about something for the adults at the CBS Scene. Game Swap - we are swapping that out for August 14th. Upgrade will be 8/28.

Boston Breakers keeper Ashley Phillips will be coming to the ODP training. On May 12th. New Hampshire Soccer Night at the Boston Breakers will be June 25th. Meghan is going to give out brochures for our clubs and leagues.

AGM wrap up meeting will be next Tuesday, May 11th at Bob Willey’s house .

We have paperwork for three new clubs. New Hampshire Premier Soccer Inc., Auburn and Farmington.

Good of the Game

Go USA Bid for the 2018 and 2022 World Cup. We should have more information in September.

Send off Series game for US Men’s Team is in Hartford, CT on May 25th prior to their departure to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Alfred Kleinaitisis retiring as National Director of Referee Instruction.
