New Guidance for Primary Care Post AKI Hospitalisation
(Adults, excluding Maternity):
This guidance has been produced in conjunction with the renal physicians at OUH and the advice from the national “think Kidneys” campaign. It provides GP’s with information on when to arrange blood test monitoring of renal function and how to re- introduce medications when patients have been discharged into the community after an admission for acute kidney injury.

Use of Antibiotic Eye Drops for MECs Patients:
At a recent OCCG locality meeting the apparent ‘high use of antibiotics’ for MECs patients was raised. Please find attached herean audit that was requested by the MECs service and the results found.

Perinatal Mental Health Training in Thames Valley:
The Thames Valley South Central Network is very pleased to announce a series of training days in perinatal mental health that it will be running across Thames Valley. This is aimed at all clinicians in the Thames Valley working with women suffering with mental illnesses during the perinatal period, especially Mental Health clinicians in adult and adolescent services, Midwives, Obstetricians, Health Visitors and GPs.
It is based on the Health Education England competency framework for perinatal mental health and the training will be delivered by Thames Valley Perinatal Mental Health specialists and will retain a strong local emphasis. Topics will include:
• Assessing and managing perinatal mental illness
• Communication skills in working with women and families during the perinatal period
• Parent-infant attachment
• Integrated care pathways and multi-agency working
• There will be workshops tailored for specific professional groups, including medication prescribing and safeguarding.
This training opportunity is offering a choice of three dates and three locations; all will run all day from 0900-1600 and there will be 70 places available in each location -
• June 8: St. Annes Manor Wokingham (this one has the most booking so far so if you want this one please book on as soon as possible)
• September 11:The Kassam stadium, Oxford
• September 25: Green Park Conference Centre, Reading
