NEW DIVER INFORMATION - 2018
Dates for the certifications dives are listed below and you will need to let York Divers know as soon as possible the dates that best fit your schedule as we limited the number of divers per session.
AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PRIOR to your scheduled certification dives you will need to come to the store to be fitted for the wetsuit, hood and gloves you will need. These items are included in the certification fee. Please try to be fitted for the wetsuit on a day other than a class day, approximately 45 minutes will be required. If you need to be fitted on a class day please come at least 60 minutes early. Your picture will also be taken for your certification card and student folder, either during class sessions or during the fitting. Payment for the certification dives will be made at this time. Cost of the four dives done over the two days is $195.00 per person.
Not included: entrance fee to dive site, trip costs, meals, and drinks.

May 19and 20; Saturday and Sunday
June 9 and 10; Saturday and Sunday
July 7 and 8; Saturday and Sunday
August 4 and 5: Saturday and Sunday
September 8 and 9; Saturday and Sunday
October 13and 14; Saturday and Sunday
November 17 and 18; Saturday and Sunday
Please note changes may be made to the above schedule as needed.
There will be an additional charge for individual certification, weekday certification or any other special arrangements.

The certification schedule:
The dives will be conducted rain or shine.
All students will meet at York Divers at 7:30 AM on the first day of the certification. All students (future divers) will check their assigned equipment prior to leaving the store. Be sure the weight belt is correct and fits properly.
You are responsible for the equipment until it is returnedto York Divers following your four dives. PLEASE take excellent care of the equipment.
There will be a pre-dive briefing held at the store prior to leaving for the dive site. All forms and monies need to be taken care of prior to leaving the store.All tanks are to be returned to the instructor following the dives as they will need to be filled for the next day of diving.
On the second day students will meet the York Divers staff at the designated time and location provided. Be sure to have all your equipment and logbooks.
Upon completion of the dives, weights, tanks, BCD and regulator are to be returned to the instructor/divemaster for return to the dive store. The wetsuit (apparel) is to be returned clean and as dry as possible the following day by the student (new diver).
There will be a late fee charged for equipment not returned on time.
There will be a service fee charged for neglected proper care of the wetsuit.
All equipment and gear is the responsibility of the student during the scheduled certification, charges will apply for lost or damaged equipment.
Bring lunch both days, and plenty to drink! Feel free to bring lawn chairs.
Logbooks are to be completed and signed following the dives each day. Please have your RDP with you to complete your logs.
If it has been three or more weeks since your final pool session please call the store to arrange a refresher pool session prior to your certification dives. One pool session is free. Additional pool sessions are $30.00 each.
