Position:Technical Sales Assistant
Reports to:Inside Sales Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports sales and marketing efforts by coordinating company resources to promote customer satisfaction.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides technical customer support; ensuring customer expectations and requirements are met, coordinating sample and drawing requests as required.
Provides support to VP Sales, Inside Sales Manager (ISM) and KAM’s to meet customer requirements. Including the timely processing of customer warranty claims.
Acts as liaison between operations and assigned customers for product samples, pre-production samples and other product proposal issues as directed.
Handles customer administration duties as follows:
Organizes and maintains the Sales quote log, as well as processes all quote worksheets and customer quotations.
Enters new customers into Visual Manufacturing.
Support ISM in the timely processing of customer NAFTA certifications.
Processes new Sales Opportunity Report (SOR), logging in and updating the database and getting required signatures.
Provide support to ISM and KAM’s to aid in customer support.
Provide administrative support to Sales Department as needed, i.e., employee meetings and events, off-site customer events, and tradeshow preparation.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Four-year college BA degree in Engineering or a related subject, Plus two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Also acceptable is equivalent degree in vocational area such as Technology Management or Diesel Engine maintenance. Extensive knowledge of personal computers, Excel, PowerPoint and computerized packages is required. Industry experience desireable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing concepts and terminology desirable, not necessary.
Be aware of and apply ANSI/ASQC Q9001-1994 quality system standards.
The individual must work well in a team environment where dependability, collaboration and cooperation are key elements of success. Initiative and drive are essential, as well as being well organized and thorough. The individual must be a quick learner and be able to communicate well both orally and in writing to both internal and external customers.
Regular Limited air travel to some tradeshows and association meetings.
Routine travel by car to assigned customer locations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk to hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally requited to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities may be required by this job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
