CLUB MEMBERSHIP RULES 2009

Membership runs from April 1st to March 31st and is based one boat per membership.

Maximum of 2 adults and 2 children with each boat, additional guests skiing must join as a day member at a charge of £10 per person per day; members can be added to your membership for £75 a year.

The member is responsible for the behaviour of all their guest, and must insure that any

Person using the lake is covered by insurance. Children under 16 are not allowed on the lake on their own, unless you carry named insurance for them

All watercraft must carry full public liability insurance up to a minimum of £2,000,000.

And must cover towing.

All watercraft must be launched from the slipway only!! When you launch your craft,

Put you jacket on! Anyone using the lake must wear a life jacket at all times.

All watercraft on the lake must have fitted and in working order, a kill switch, this to be attached to the driver at all times.

Only 3 Boats or 6 jet skis, are allowed on the lake at a time, only 6 craft in total are allowed on the lake at any one time

No swimming in the lake, keep children out of the water, life jackets to be used at all times, when on the lake

Dogs are allowed on site, but must be kept under control and all mess picked up and taken off site. All litter to be collected and taken away from the site. Please take your rubbish home!!!!!!

All Watercraft must slow down and drop to tick over speed as you approach the beach area. There are RED buoys marking this area. Tick over only! Keep LakeSafe!!!!!

As from 2007 all boat drivers must hold the Ski Boat Drivers Award! And be members of the British Water Ski Federation, to use the lake, see me for detail!

Gate must be kept locked at all times. Make sure you hook the rope over the gatepost, remember there is livestock on site, Key to be kept by and used by club Members only

TOWING SKIERS AND TOYS

When Water Craft on the lake are towing, wait until they are finished.

“DO NOT MIX SPEEDING CRAFT WITH TOWING CRAFT”

Any craft towing must have an observer facing backwards on board as well as the driver.

It’s the observers job to inform the driver if the skier falls!

Keep your distance from other craft on the lake (Don’t get to Close) and watch out at all times for fallen skiers, keep aware of any towing craft!

If while being towed by watercraft, you fall in the water, hold up your arms or Ski if you have one, try to make your self more visible.

If while towing your Skier falls, turn around to protect them as soon as safely possible.

Place your craft between the fallen skier and oncoming traffic, until clear

Do not leave your ski rope out when skiing has finished, reel it in before moving and sit down in the boat! (Do not sit on the side of the boat, when in motion)

Direction for all watercraft is right (starboard), rules of the sea! KEEP RIGHT, TURN RIGHT always give way to craft on your right

When coming in to the beach area, the driver will indicate his intended manoeuvre by holding up the right hand as he approaches the tick over zone

At all times any person using the lake must not act in any way which may be deemed as dangerous or unsafe to either yourself, any other users’ of the lake, or any equipment on the lake. If you are deemed to be acting in such a manner any member of the committee or designated Member may warn you. If you continue to act in an unsafe manner you will be asked to leave the lake, and no refund will be given.

No quads, monkey bikes or powered bikes of any sort allowed on this site, no shooting or fishing allowed, we are a water-ski club, only

Rules are there for your safety and that of other member, so please stick to them. Stupid or irresponsible behaviour will not be tolerated and the Committee retain the right to cancel the membership of any offending member, remember this is your club, protect it.
