Nemours Children's Clinic in Jacksonville is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified PediatricSurgeon to joinour well established, growing practice.
The Nemours Children’s Clinic in sunny Jacksonville, FL is seeking to expand it's Division of Pediatric Surgery to five surgeons. Our busy division provides comprehensive surgical care to a large population base. Increasing surgical volume requires that we add a new member for our team.
Call isforPediatric Surgery service only, with no General Surgery call. Call will be shared among the staff of five and is taken from home.
Inpatient care is delivered at Wolfson Children's Hospital, located directly adjacent to our clinic. The 180 bed facility includes a 20 bed PICU and 48 Level 2 and 3 NICU beds, with 24 hour critical care coverage. Our team of pediatric hospitalists provide full-time support, allowingour physiciansto focus on the surgical management of patients. NemoursJacksonville includes 16 Pediatric Specialty departments, with 18 Pediatric Anesthesiologists on staff.
We have a strong interest in advanced minimally invasive surgery, with a dedicated minimally invasive OR suite, updated laparoscopic instrumentation, and use of the DaVinci Surgical Robot. Additional focus is placed on chest wall deformities, surgical oncology, and neonatal surgical care. We are open to expanding our surgical offerings with the right candidate to include adolescent bariatric surgery, solid organ transplantation, or pediatric burn surgery.
This position offers a unique mix of academic and private practice, rarely found elsewhere.Academic appointments are available tothe MayoClinic - Jacksonville, and University of Florida - Jacksonville.Our division trains general surgery residents, and intends to develop a pediatric surgery fellowship training program. Outstanding research opportunities, both clinical and laboratory based, exist through both Nemours and our academic affiliates.Physician extenders provide support in both the clinic and hospital.
