NEE CULTURAL ARTS FAIR ENTRIES
DUE FRIDAY, APRIL 8TH
Students may submit up to a total of 3 entries in the Cultural Arts Fair. All entries must have been completed within this school year.
CATEGORIES:
A child may enter 1, 2, or 3 pieces from any combination of the following categories:
1. Visual Art: Original works of art in the areas of painting, mixed media, drawing, 3-D and/or photography (no visual arts entries larger than poster board size & CAN NOT be something completed with the help of a professional; ex. Painting with a Twist or other art classes where the student does not create an original piece of artwork.)
2. Writing: Original works of writing in the area of poetry, fiction or nonfiction.
IMPORTANT: Writing entry will be disqualified if it is not typed.
3. Music: CD or DVD that shows one minute of the child’s best musical performance. [Examples: a piano recital, instrumental, or singing a favorite song.
IMPORTANT: Submission will be disqualified if it is longer that one minute.]
4. Dance: DVD that shows one minute of the child’s best dance performance. [Examples: dance recitals, competition, pageants, dance routines, etc.
IMPORTANT: Submission will be disqualified if it is longer that one minute.]
5. Drama: DVD that shows one minute of the child’s best drama production. [Examples: a part in a play, pantomime, etc.
IMPORTANT: Submission will be disqualified if it is longer than one minute.]
Parental support of students’ art endeavors are encouraged however, it must be evident that the student completed the majority of the project independently.

AWARDS: Group 1: Kindergarten and Special Ed. (judged together). Group 2: 1st and 2nd (judged together). Group 3: 3rd and 4th (judged together). 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and 1 Honorable Mention ribbons from each group and category will be awarded. A BEST OF FAIR trophy will be presented to the most outstanding entry. Awards will be announced at the Cultural Arts Awards presentation on April 12th.
