Old Business

No one has expressed an interest to take on the 2016 NCTCCCA Cross Country Meet of Champions.

Alton Tyre will speak to his AD about possibly taking on the 2017 NCTCCCA Track and Field Meet of Champions.

The proposal to allow scratches at the Outdoor State Meet is with the NCHSAA.

Schools can make a special request to the NCHSAA to have only four teams at a Polar Bear meet so no proposal will be submitted.

The proposal to increase individual number of entries to Indoor State and Outdoor Regionals will not be considered by the NCHSAA as it was proposed by a member of their staff last year and did not make it out of committee.

The proposal to consider increasing number of teams advancing to the State Cross Country Championships from Regionals has been submitted to the NCHSAA.

The two proposals tabled from the July Board of Directors meeting to adjust number of advancers in track from Regionals to State based on new 20/30/30/20 realignment were again tabled until the next Board meeting pending the outcome of the NCHSAA decision on the Cross Country proposal.

New Business

A request was made by a NCTCCCA member to consider a more formal liaison between the North Carolina USATF and the NCTCCCA. Response - NCTCCCA Executive Director DePaul Mittman already communicates well with the NC-USATF.

The revised proposal which was submitted to break 2A and 3A into 2A/2AA and 3A/3AA after the next realignment with separate competitions was tabled until the next Board meeting pending the outcome of the NCHSAA decision on the Cross Country proposal.

Alan Peoples made a motion which was seconded and unanimously passed to move the NCTCCCA Clinic to one day, Saturday, November 11, 2017, with more information TBD. It is anticipated we could still offer six clinic sessions a day utilizing a variety of speakers each session (one would be the NCHSAA rules interpretation), as well as the general meeting now being combined with lunch. The clinic most likely run from 8:30 to 5:30. Early registration would be $75, late registration $100, and rules interpretation only $100. Pam Bolton will take over as Director of Venders and Sponsors for the Clinic.

Seth Peoples of Grimsley will be the 4A Outdoor Track and Field State Championships assistant director this year.

The request will be made to Regional Directors to poll their coaches as to why they do not attend the NCTCCCA clinic.

Alan Peoples made a motion which was seconded and passed unanimously to request of every cross country and track coach in the state to make a tax deductible donation of one dollar for every year he/she has been coaching to the NCTCCCA. The NCTCCCA is a 501(c)(3) organization.

Alan Peoples made a motion which was seconded and passed unanimously to accept the slate of officers for the next year: Scott Harding, president; Walt Fletcher, first vice president; Seth Peoples, second vice president.

The meeting was adjourned without objection.
