If you’re already approved by another recognised1 Awarding Organisation:
We probably won’t need to carry out an approval visit. However you’ll need to attach evidence that you’re approved by at least one recognised1 Awarding Organisation for the current academic session. Evidence can include:
¨ your current centre approval certificate
¨ a letter or email confirming approval from recognised Awarding Organisation
¨ an External Verifier/Moderator visit report from the current academic session
You do still need to meet our approval criteria, provided on the NCFE website.
Once we receive your form we’ll check the information you’ve supplied. If your application is successful, we’ll add your details to our database and send you confirmation of approval by email.
If you’re not already approved by another recognised1 Awarding Organisation.
We’ll allocate an Approval Advisor once we receive your application form, who will contact you to arrange an approval visit. During the visit your Approval Advisor will check that you meet our approval criteria and have everything in place to successfully deliver NCFE qualifications, awards and units. The visit could last up to a full day. You’ll be invoiced for the cost of the approval visit. Please see our current Fees and Pricing document for details of fees. You can find a User Guide to the Approval Advisor report on our website; this explains what the Approval Advisor will look at on their visit.
Within 5 working days of the visit, your Approval Advisor will complete and email you a report confirming whether or not you’ve met our approval criteria. If you’ve not fully met our criteria, your Approval Advisor will provide details of what you need to do to meet the criteria. If the approval visit is successful, we’ll add your details to our database and send you confirmation of approval by email.
Annual Approval fee
NCFE charges an Annual Approval Fee of £800 to all colleges and training providers approved to offer our qualifications and a £400 Annual Approval Fee for schools. This fee excludes centres offering our IIQ licence or Customised Award service. This annual fee is calculated on a pro rata basis from the date that a new centre gains approval to deliver our qualifications. Please note that this is a single charge per centre, and is not affected by the number of learners or variety of NCFE qualifications delivered by a centre.
