Navigating the EGG DROP Competition!!!

We look forward to your participation in the 2008 Egg Drop Competition!

If you have questions during the Egg Drop, just ask any volunteer. They will be wearing WHITE LABCOATS with an Egg Drop Nametag!

1.REGISTRATION:9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Only one member of a team is needed to check in, and you will be provided with eggs at that time. Go to the registration tables (marked with RED balloons) and pick up your nametag, certificate, and egg. You must have a Personal Score Card with a registration number to participate in the Egg Drop. The Personal Score Card will also have instructions to navigate the event. We recommend you check the rules prior to the Egg Drop, as they are subject to change until the day of the event.

2.ASSEMBLY STATION:Go to an Assembly Table (marked with BLUE balloons).Insert your egg into your device. Fully assemble the device as if you were getting ready to drop it. Once your device is completely assembled, go to a Weigh Station Table.

3. DEVICE WEIGH STATION:Go to aWeigh Station table (marked with GREEN balloons).All devices will be weighed in grams. If you have balloons on your device, the weigh station attendants will measure each of your balloons and record the dimensions.

4.EGG DROP AREA:After your device has been weighed, take the escalator upstairs to your designated Egg Drop Areas. Each area is marked with a balloon…ORANGE (K-5 and 9-12), PURPLE (6-8 and Adult) and YELLOW (Teams).

a. Line up for your turn to drop your device.

b. Step up to the marked-off drop area.

c. Line up your device with the target and let it go…BUTDO NOT LEAN OVER THE RAILING!

d. After your device hits the target, an Egg Drop Volunteer will move your device to an Inspection Table in the Target Drop Zone. Go downstairs to the Inspection Table, remove your egg, and hand it to the volunteer for inspection.

5. WINNING EGGS: If your egg does not break, take your egg to the Egg Weigh Station (marked with WHITEballoons) next to the Mall’s Information Desk. Keep an eye on the Scoreboard to see how you rank with everyone else in the competition!

6. MENTORING AREA: Volunteers are available to assist you in calculating your score (marked with PINK balloons).

****GRAND PRIZE ROUND****

If you are one of the first, second or third place winner, your name will be announced; proceed to the Registration Area (RED balloons) to receive a new egg. Reassemble your device; proceed to the Egg Weigh Station (WHITEballoons) to weigh your assembled device. Go upstairs to the PURPLEdrop area.
