We have our regular Division Meeting this Thursday (11/5) at noon in Room 224. Janet Portolan will join us to update us on the 400 Building project. The remainder of the meeting will be devoted to a program review worksession.
2. Spring, 2010 Staff Assignment Sheets Due Back Today, November 2…
From Olivia:
“Spring 2010 Staff Assignment Sheets have been placed in all Full Time Faculty Division Mailboxes. Please review them carefully and fill in your Office/Campus Hours. They are due back to me by Monday, November 2nd.”
3. NS Departments Should Continue to Work on Program Review Sheets.
We have only 2-3 weeks to produce Program Review sheets for all departments in this division, according to the College schedule. The Program Review paper forms have been given to all faculty; electronic versions were emailed to all Coordinators.
A reminder that all Program Review data is available on the Division Activities page: http://staffwww.fullcoll.edu/bcordell/DivActivs.htm Just click on “Program Review.”
4. CA, FC and NS Budget Situation…
I hope you read the Chancellor’s Memo of 10/27/09. “It’s turning out to be an enterprising year, even with the threat of additional budget cuts hanging over us.” Dr. Doffoney concludes that, “We have not received any new information on how the state’s evolving budget situation may impact us further this or next year since I discussed the NOCCCD 2009-10 Budget in my September memo.”
We track the NS budget carefully each week but because of Banner issues there has been some uncertainty about our accounts until last week. Here’s a summary as of last Friday: Our Science Bid used Lottery Funds and there is $ 7375 remaining. Instructional Supplies for each department are as follows: Biology: $ 4800; Physical: $ - 2116; Hort: $ 2798; Foods: $ - 283. Instructional Equipment: $ Zero.
Please keep this in mind as you plan future expenditures.
5. Deb Update:
From Olivia:
“Deb had her third scheduled surgery on Friday. Everything looked good and she is continuing to recover. Her new return date is Tuesday, December 1st.”
6. Good News About the “Mold” Problem in Room 708…
From Tami Oh, District Risk Manager:
“Attached is the Industrial Hygiene Survey Report for room 708. It’s good news…”
The report concludes that, “The District was notified on October 21, 2009, that there was no mold growth and the room was safe for continued occupancy.” They recommended that we “Consider painting the ceiling as an aesthetic treatment.” This had become a potential health issue on the minds of some students, and so please pass the word.
