Stewardship 2010 Award Program
The Native Tree Committee works to promote the voluntary planting and conservation of native trees through education, propagation, and stewardship. In furtherance of that goal, our Native Tree Stewardship Award recognizes those who best exemplify those objectives. An individual or organization may nominate a group or individual each year. From this pool, a council selected by the Native Tree Committee will name a Steward of the Year. The award will be presented to an individual or group who has demonstrated outstanding and innovative natural resource management while making significant contributions to the conservation of native woodlands in the County. The award will be presented at Cattlemen and Farmers’ Day during the California Mid-State Fairon July 22, 2010.
Each nominee should be actively involved in the maintenance and enhancement of natural resources, including native tree regeneration and woodland habitat. NominationApplication Forms must be submitted to the Native Tree Committee of San Luis Obispo County before June 11th.

Does not remove native trees, except to control insects and disease, to prevent bodily
injury and property damage, and for on-site firewood and other domestic uses.
