Evaluator’s Opinions: (Continued)* Matters to consider during evaluation:
1. Basis of Evaluation:
(1) Associate Professors: concrete and enduring contributions in their academic fields.
(2) Assistant Professors: having published works of the same level as their doctorate dissertations and possessing independent research capabilities.
(3) Lecturers: Having published works of the same level as their master’s degree thesis.
2. Works accomplished by collating, adding to/deleting from, combining or re-arranging the academic works of others may not be submitted for evaluation.
3. In accordance to Article 30.1 of the Education Personnel Employment Law, when applying for the rank of associate professor, a PhD dissertation may be submitted for evaluation, however, said dissertation shall be required to meet the standards for the rank of associate professor.
4. External evaluation shall be rated as: “A” (Excellent), “B” (Good), “C” (Ordinary) and “D” (Poor). The evaluator shall take into consideration the research achievements of other teachers of the same academic field and rank.
5. Passing the External Evaluation: If conducted by three evaluators, at least two must give a rating of “B” or above. In case of five evaluators, at least four must give a rating of “B” or above.
