National Sport Trust Fund – Manitoba Chapter Approved Project List(As of Sept 2, 2015)

The National Sport Trust Fund (NSTF) is a philanthropic gift-giving program established through the Canadian Council of Provincial and Territorial Sport Federations (CCPTSF) for the development of amateur sport on a national level. The CCPTSF is a Registered Canadian Amateur Athletic Association (RCAAA) with the Canada Revenue Agency.

Below is a summarized listing of the eligible projects which have received approval to participate in the program with the NSTF-MB Chapter.

Sport Manitoba / Sport for Life Centre Project / MB09-01
The building and development the Sport for Life Centre, based on the goal of building a more collaborative sport delivery system in the Province of Manitoba. The Sport for Life Centre presents an opportunity to incorporate a mix of sport heritage, high performance and community sport. It brings together sport administrators with practitioners creating a critical mass of sport expertise and knowledge. The Centre will consist of two main areas: phase 1 office/admin space and phase 2 training/athletic spaces.
Sport Manitoba / Community Development Project / MB08-01
The Community Development project is raising funds to support the following programs: Sport Alliances, Hosting Grants, Travel Assistance Grants, Sport Development Grants and Bilateral Sports development.
Manitoba Badminton Association / Friends of Badminton Endowment Fund / MB14-02
The Friends of Badminton Endowment Fund will be an ongoing fundraising project. The ultimate goal of the fund will be to provide funding support to a badminton-specific facility to assist with building, maintenance and developments. The annual interest will be used to support current badminton facilities and clubs with their infrastructure and program development needs.
Baseball Manitoba / Team MB Baseball Development Fund / MB 13-04
This on-going project will aim to raise funds to assist elite level baseball players and our Team Manitoba Youth Selects program to develop their skills and aspirations to the next level.
Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame / Hall of Fame Facility Upgrades / MB09-03
The project’s goal is to increase the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame’s ability to promote and showcase the sport thru physical improvements to the Hall environment.
Winnipeg Minor Basketball Foundation / Outdoor & Indoor Court Construction / MB09-05
Raising funds to develop and improve facilities to meet the increased demands from growing participation in basketball. WMBF is currently working on their third facility project with plans for 2-3 more sites to be confirmed.
Basketball Manitoba / Basketball for Life Fund / MB14-01
This on-going project will aim to raise funds and increase accessibility to assist provincial team players at the 17U, 16U and 15U levels. The proceeds will be used to support the development of both athletes and coaches within the Basketball for Life program including: assisting with costs related to competition and training, travel to national, inter-provincial events and equipment.
Manitoba Cycling Association / Cyclo-Cross Nationals / MB14-08
MCA will be raising funds to host / promote the National Championships for Cyclo-cross and to develop the grass roots for this sport.
Curl Manitoba / Curl for Life Endowment / MB11-01
The Curling for Life Endowment Fund will be an ongoing project raising funds to develop and grow the sport of curling in Manitoba, Canada and the world by providing leadership, services and programs for the curling community from grassroots to elite.
Rhythmic Gymnastics Manitoba / Provincial Team Development / MB13-03
The project is raising funds to enhance development of their team to compete at higher levels. Objectives are to offer support with training and competitive costs and to hosting training / skill development camps.
St James Rods Football Club / Provincial Team Development / MB09-04
To support the development of athletes through the operations of the club including the redevelopment of game and practice fields. This scope of the project concentrates on the Game Field by enhancing the facilities for the players and spectators and developing a new Practice Field complete with lights.
Fort Garry Lions Football Club / Football Centre of Excellence –Capital Project / MB 13-01
The funds raised will help to build on the club’s rich history by creating a “Football Centre of Excellence” in South Winnipeg. The project has a multi-phased facility redevelopment plan which will enhance the club’s abilities to provide programs across the athlete development streams.
Cross Country Ski Association of MB / Chris McCubbins Inner City Schools Ski Program / MB09-02
The project is raising funds for the Chris McCubbins Inner City Schools Ski Program. The students come from six inner city area schools and participate in 13 weekly ski lessons at the Windsor Park Nordic Center over the winter.
Cross Country Ski Association of MB Para Nordic Skiing Program MB12-02
The Para Nordic Ski program will raise funds for the further development of a Para Nordic team in Manitoba and assist with coaching, adaptive equipment and competition travel expenses for Para Nordic athletes trying to qualify for regional, national and international competitions (Canada Games, Paralympic Games).
Manitoba Aboriginal Sport & Recreation Council / Sport Participation – Equipment Program / MB13-05
Our project will aim to raise funds to assist MASRC with the operations and development of the Kidsport/MASRC equipment program and warehouse. The program is an important aspect in supporting Manitoba’s youth athletes, in urban, rural, remote and isolated communities through the province, as it removes some of the financial barriers to participation.
Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex / Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex Development Project / MB13-07
This is a capital project to build an 8 diamond softball facility in the city of Brandon to provide low-cost and accessible opportunities for children and adults to be more physically active through softball. This project will provide an opportunity for community residents across their lifespan to develop skills, be more physically active and develop a stronger sense of community connectedness.
Softball MB & Smitty’s Terminator Softball Club / Smitty’s Softball Coach & Athlete Development Fund Project / MB13-06
Smitty’s Terminator club will be raising funds to create a Coach and Athlete Development fund to assist the club in meeting program development goals and continue to develop athletes to compete at the highest levels of competition provincially, nationally and internationally.
Triathlon Manitoba / Athlete Development Project / MB15-01
The project is raising funds to support the Youth Team and Manitoba National Triathlon Centre athletes. The athletes train to compete in Interprovincial and National events, including Youth & Junior Series races, WCSG, CG and Nationals. Funds will be used to support the programming, training camps and travel.
2016 Steinbach Host Society / 2016 Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games / MB15-02
The Power Smart Manitoba Games are the province's largest ongoing multi-sport program bringing together participants from across the province. Participants from all regions across the province between the ages of 13 and 16 will be participating in eleven sports including athletics, baseball, basketball, cycling, golf, sailing, soccer, softball, swimming, triathlon and volleyball. The community of Steinbach is proud to be hosting the 2016 Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games at various facilities in our region. Over 1000 volunteers will be recruited to make sure the Games are successful. The program will raise funds to support the delivery of these Games.

Projects or organizations not appearing on this list are not currently registered with the National Sport Trust Fund-MB Chapter.
