ABOUT LANDMARKS:

The mission of the NHCL program is to enhance public appreciation for the contributions of the chemical sciences to modern life in the United States and to encourage a sense of pride in their practitioners for chemistry’s rich history. The program does this by recognizing seminal achievements in the chemical sciences, recording their histories, and providing information and resources about Landmark achievements.

To nominate a subject for recognition by the NHCL program, complete this form and submit it to the NHCL Program Manager for evaluation by the NHCL Subcommittee. Following evaluation, the NHCL Program Manager will respond with the Subcommittee’s recommendation. It is typical for nominations to come before the NHCL Subcommittee 2 to 3 times before a final recommendation is made. All nominations are subject to final approval by the ACS Board Standing Committee on Public Affairs and Public Relations, which acts on behalf of the ACS Board of Directors.

Prospective nominators should review the NHCL website for information and requirements before completing this form. For additional details, including upcoming deadlines, please contact the NHCL Program Manager.More information is available at
