Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

On behalf of the people of the Diocese of Colorado I am delighted to welcome you all to this great state for the National Episcopal Cursillo Seminar to be held October 25 - 28, 2007 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Colorado Springs.

The theme ofthe seminar is "These I Will Bring to My Holy Mountain," and, indeed the location for the conference will find you at the base of some of the most striking mountains in God's creation. In addition to the wonderful natural beauty that surrounds the city, the Colorado Springs area offers numerous natural and

cultural attractions and activities, and I am confident that you will find it an inspiring place to further your ministry and your own formation.

If you wish to learn more about the Diocese of Colorado, and about this great state we live in, I encourage you to visit and to get to know us better. I am grateful to you for all that you do for the building up of the Body of Christ. I commend you for your ministry and your commitment to God's mission in this world. On behalf of all of us in Colorado, I look forward to greeting you this fall.

1

Faithfully,

The Right Reverend Robert O'Neill

Bishop of Colorado

Have you EVER been to Seminar?

If you have never been to Seminar or this is your 10th time, you can always count on the opportunity to meet and develop friendships with people from across the country and abroad with whom you share a common link. Cursillo survives on the activities of the fourth day and what you do with what you have learned. There is no better way to be recharged and motivated to continue the mission of Cursillo than to share a weekend at seminar with 200 or more other Cursillistas.

This year’s seminar will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The hotel, where we will be staying, is centrally located to shopping, dining and many activities related to the famous Pike’s Peak. Come early or stay late to enjoy all that Colorado has to offer. Please visit to learn more about the Pike’s Peak area and to receive a free visitor’s guide. You can also check out the Colorado Visitors Bureau website at or the Colorado Springs Visitors Bureau site to find a trip of a lifetime or a simple day trip for you and your family.

We look forward to seeing you in Colorado and who knows you may even get a chance to see a little snow while you are here.

Keynote Speaker,

The Right Reverend Vincent W. Warner Jr.

Bishop of the Diocese of Olympia

The Rt. Rev. Vincent W. Warner, Bishop of the Diocese of Olympia, was elected bishop for the Episcopal church in Western Washington on Feb. 11, 1989. An extremely approachable and deeply spiritual man, Warner has instituted a number of changes since becoming the diocesan Bishop.

Born in Roanoke, Va., on Dec. 27,1940, he attended RoanokeCollege and worked in data processing systems and product management for several years before completing his seminary work at Virginia Theological Seminary in 1971. After three years at St. John'sChurch in Roanoke, he became associate rector of ChristChurch, Grosse Pointe, Mich. He then moved to Cape Cod, Mass., where he served as the first rector of St. Peter's ParishChurch in Osterville and became President of the Cape Cod Council of Churches.

In 1980, Warner was called to serve as archdeacon in the Diocese of Maine, where he continued his ecumenical activities by becoming Vice President of the Maine Council of Churches. In 1983 he was called as rector of St. Andrew's Church in Wellesley, Mass., where he remained until his election as Bishop of Olympia.

Throughout his ministry as an ordained person, Warner has stood with those who seek racial and political justice and equality. He served on a civil rights panel during Mike Lowry’s term as governor of WashingtonState. He is actively engaged in the work of the House of Bishops on anti-racism and pastoral development. He has a deep commitment to ecumenism.HeHeH

Since becoming Bishop of Olympia, Warner has developed close working relationships with other leaders in the ecumenical community. He strongly supports the work of the Washington Association of Churches.

As bishop, Warner has made numerous trips to the Middle East. As a member of peace delegations in 2000 and 2002, he witnessed firsthand the pain and suffering that can result from the breakdown in the work of reconciliation. Reconciliation and Servant Leadership values are at the heart of his ministry. Warner is a senior member of the House of Bishops and regularly makes himself available to political leaders in WashingtonState as they seek to build a more just society.

Warner has also been instrumental in bringing new life to the Episcopal churches in Western Washington. Building on the strong heritage of support for mission work in the diocese, he has worked with clergy and lay people to articulate a shared vision for the Diocese of Olympia which stresses unity, evangelism, nurture of all orders of ministry, stewardship and active participation of the church in the world.

The ECLW begins on Thursday and will be completed during the Seminar.

This workshop will stress the importance of using newer music to attract the "younger" weekend attendees as well as using the old standbys to keep the older Cursillistas happy as well. This workshop is designed for all attendees, not just musicians.
