Instruction Page
Please read the following instructions carefully.
● You may handwrite or type the application. There will be higher points for a typed application.
.
● The academic section, do not enter grades. Advisors will enter based off of Sept. 26th eligibility report. Have each teacher sign and comment on your academic performance to date.
● Application is due on September 29th at 3:20 pm. No late applications will be accepted. Procrastination will be taken into account if there is a tie, which means don’t get your signatures on the day that it is due!
● Please do NOT put CDE events or FFA meetings in the FFA Activities section. Any other activities at the chapter, section, district, or state level are acceptable. DO NOT duplicate activities; just put how many years you were involved.
● Essays will be scored on content quality, spelling and grammar by three anonymous judges. Each judge will give you a score out of 25 points for each essay question. The judge’s scores will then be averaged to give you a total score for each question answered. There is no word minimum or maximum. Type what you feel is appropriate. (This is the ONLY part of the application that is SUBJECTIVE; the rest is OBJECTIVE as you can see by viewing the rubric attached to this application.)
● The rule of thumb is that FFA members only attend National Convention for a maximum of two years. However, if more quality candidates are needed to fill convention spots, individuals who have already gone 2 years will be accepted. Don’t let it stop you from filling out the application.
