Mindfulness through Music

Presented by: ChristyClavio, LCSW, LCAS

DATE: Wednesday, July 20, 2016

TIME: 11:30AM - 1:30PM

Seymour Auditorium, CarePartners

DESCRIPTION:Musical self-expression is a joyful and healthy means of communication available to absolutely everyone. Music improvisation is a unique and positive way to build skills for life-expression. Any combination of people and instruments can make music together. In this workshop, we will begin to learn how to utilize music improvisation as a mindfulness practice and as a tool for wellness in social work with individuals, families, and groups. This class will include some experiential learning and you are invited to bring an instrument if you choose. Some instruments will be available to use for participants. No prior music experience is required. There are no "unmusical" people, only those with no musical experience.
