National Aerospace Week

Second to None Campaign

Sample Email for employees

(Name of company or organization) has joined with the Aerospace Industries Association to celebrate National Aerospace Week September 11–17. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your long-standing contributions not only to our company but to the nation.

Together, we have built an industry that keeps our nation secure, is technologically superior and a cornerstone of our economy. I know the men and women in uniform and across the land appreciate our contributions with the knowledge that in today’s uncertain world, we are doing our job.

(Specifics about company or organization)

Our nation is facing tough economic times. It’s imperative that we reduce the debt to ensure the future of our country and our children. I’m pleased that we’re doing our part. We’re working with our government customers to make sure our programs are efficient, providing value for each taxpayer dollar. Internally, as a company (or organization), we’re trying to be as efficient and cost-effective as we can. However, as the Congress considers the budget, we all know that ill-considered cuts can have dire consequences.

I’d encourage you to reach out to your elected officials and remind them of these facts as well as others:

  • The aerospace and defense industry is critical to our national security, technological superiority and economy. Our products protect our men and women in uniform, lead in modernization of America’s aviation infrastructure and maintain U.S. leadership in space. We are indeed, Second to None.
  • As America’s leading manufacturing export industry, the aerospace industry contributed a $51.2 billion U.S. trade surplus last year – the largest of any manufacturing sector. Despite the tough economic environment, the industry reported a record $214.5 billion in sales in 2010.
  • There are more than 800,000aerospace and defense employees across the nation supporting more than two million middle-class jobs with more than 30,000 suppliers from all 50 states.

That is something in which we can all take pride. National Aerospace Week is important for all those reasons, but I particularly want to take the opportunity to say “job well done” to all of you who make this company (or organization) and this industry successful. Together, we pledge to continue advancing — every day — the aerospace and defense capabilities that are vital to the nation.
