NATHAN L. HILL
Consultant
Nathan L. Hill is a native of Jacksonville, Alabama. After graduation from high school in 1961, he entered the Air Force.
When discharged, he returned to Jacksonville to attend Jacksonville State University and in 1967 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with honors.
Mr. Hill began his civil service career with the Army Audit Agency and later transferred to Anniston Army Depot in 1968. During his service at Anniston, he has held the positions of Budget Officer, Financial Manager, Acting Director for Resources Management and the Civilian Executive/Deputy to the Depot Commander prior to retiring 31 December 1999. Mr. Hill was on the study team that led to the establishment of the Depot System Command. After the command was formed, he served 18 months at the Headquarters as the Acting Comptroller and Assistant to the Chief of Staff for Resources Management.
Included among his awards are the DOD Distinguished Civilian Service Award (highest civilian award in DoD), the Department of Army Exceptional Civilian Service Award (3 times), the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, and Commander’s awards (3 times), all of which recognize his exemplary contributions to the Army and Department of Defense programs.
Married to the former Carol Pruett of Jacksonville, Alabama, the Hills have one daughter, Holly, who lives in Villa Rica, GA
After retirement from federal service in 2000, he has served as a consultant to various Department of Defense Contractors. Since 2004 to present serves as Military Liaison for the Calhoun County Economic Development Council and Chamber of Commerce to work with the State of Alabama and US Congressional Members on Military and Homeland Security matters and to sustain and promote Public-Private Partnering between Anniston Army Depot and Private Sector.He currently serves on the Alabama Military Stability Commission representing the Calhoun County Area.
