Dear Dr. Baloy,

We are pleased to offer you the position of Assistant Director of Canada House Programs at the starting salary of $39,092 annually. This is a .75 FTE, 12-month, at-will position. This position is considered a Professional Staff exempt position for purposes of federal wage-hour law, which means that you will not be eligible for overtime. Either you or Western Washington University may terminate your appointment at any time with or without cause by serving written notice to the other party. Although other terms and conditions can be changed from time to time by written agreement, the at-will status of your employment cannot be changed, amended, or altered.

The employment conditions of this position are provided under the Professional Staff Handbook. A copy of the handbook will be provided to you at your mandatory New Employee Orientation, which will take place following your first day of employment. Your first day of employment is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 1, at 9:00am at Canada House. If you have a break in employment between your current position and this one, you will have to visit Human Resources, in the Humanities Building, room 203 to complete paperwork. You will not need to make an appointment; there will be someone available Monday through Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 (excluding holidays). Once your paperwork is successfully completed, you may begin your position. Please review the enclosed I-9 form to ensure you bring proper documentation with you to Human Resources for completion of your paperwork. Your mandatory New Employee Orientation will be scheduled following your start date.

In addition to your compensation you will be eligible to receive benefits offered to Professional Staff employees. The Benefits office will send an enrollment information packet to you upon your acceptance. This offer of employment is contingent upon a complete background check satisfactory to the University and your ability to meet federal employment eligibility requirements including possession of a social security number. You will have 60 days to comply with the “Requiring Proof of Rubeola Measles Immunity” policy.
