Overview of Role

The Sessional Worker provides support to young people in Norfolk aged 11 - 25 with physical / learning disabilities or additional support needs who are accessing the Fast Forward Project, which NANSA delivers in partnership with Musical Keys and OPEN Youth Trust. The Sessional Worker ensures that the young people can fully participate in a programme of activities through encouragement, direct assistance as needed, and supporting them to develop key skills which will enable them to confidently undertake the key transitions through to adult life.

Working hours: Saturdays, 2.5 hours per week , 45 weeks per annum (no sessions on Bank Holiday weekends or at Christmas)

Work Location: OPEN, 20 Bank Plain, Norwich.

Salary Scale: NANSA salary scale pts 11 - 13Key Customers:Fast Forward Project clients and their families
£16,034 - £16,799 pro rata

  • Assist on planning and delivering youth and transition sessions in line with the Flow Project plan.
  • Ensure the quality of services and activities meet best practice standards through regular monitoring and reviewing.
  • Directly support clients during sessions, including undertaking personal care, providing support at mealtimes and assisting with medication in line with guidance.
  • Support clients appropriately to ensure they can participate as independently as possible, and that attending the Flow Project is a positive, enhancing experience.
  • Act as keyworker for individual clients, maintain and contribute to support plans and other relevant documentation.
  • Work closely with other members of staff to ensure clients are kept safe at all times, and any potential issues are dealt with immediately.

  • Experience of youth work, work within a social care or special education setting (E)
