SCHOOL CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

and

ANTI-BULLYING POLICY

I. Introduction:

This document comprises the written policy of Paruayan Elementary School in which the total development of the learner is given an optimum attention. Each individual, pupils and teachers are given what they truly deserve in terms of rights, privileges and fair treatment in accordance with the existing law of the land.

II. Aims of the School:

Pursuant to the 1987 Constitution, “ the State shall defend the rights of the children to assistance, including proper care and nutrition, and special protection from all forms of neglect, abuse, cruelty, exploitation and other conditions prejudicial to their development.” ( Art. XV, Sec.3(2).

This institution commits itself to create an academic upholding the rights of the children and human dignity and teaching them to love our Creator, our country and fellowmen.

III. Aims of the Policy:

The Child Protection Policy of the school is a reflection/blueprint that we values freedom, justice and respect for all children and young people. The children are vulnerable to abuse, violence, neglect and exploitation. Thus, we firmly believe that their safety, security and protection will be the schools highest priority.

IV. Scope of the Policy:

This policy applies to all programs in Paruayan Elementary School pupils, teachers, parents/guardians, visitors and volunteers who are working with children under its care.

  1. Organize and convene the Child Protection Committee in the school;
  2. Conduct the capacity building activities for the members of CPC
  3. Conduct disciplinary proceedings;
  4. Coordinate with appropriate offices, agencies for appropriate assistance.

The Child Protection Committee (CPC) will be designated as the School’s Bullying Committee as required under DepEd Order No. 40, series of 2012.

The committee shall perform the following tasks:

Draft a School Policy Protection to ensure child protection;

Organize activities for the protection of children;

Ensure that the children’s right to be heard are respected and upheld all matters and procedure affecting their welfare;

Coordinate closely with the DSWD, PNP and other non-governmental institution.

IV. Methods and Procedures

  1. Preventive Measures:

Don’t show favoritism.

Don’t share sleeping accommodation.

Don’t allow a pupil to wear a ridiculous attire in going to school.

Treat all young pupils with dignity and respect.

Be attentive to the words that comes out on your language and the actions be done.

  • Protective and Remedial Measures to Address Bullying and other Acts of Abuse by a pupil ( DepEd’s Children Protection Policy)

The school should listen to anyone who wants to talk any incidents or suspect abuse being bullied.

The information gather must be put into written and the assurance that only those who need to know will be told.

The school head shall in turn inform the parents of the pupils concerned and a meeting shall be held for that purpose.

Records must be keep confidential.

Call the right person to do the investigation.

 Expeditious conduct of investigation and reporting of cases.

The identity of the respondent-teacher shall likewise be kept confidential.

The identity or other information that may reasonably identify the pupil shall remain confidential.
