Please briefly describe what experiences an intern in your district would receive: Interns are a part of a highly experienced special education team.
Interns work with a wide array of educational disabilities and populations.
Opportunities exist for interns to provide individual and group-based counseling for students with emotional challenges. Interns are responsible for working effectively with special education teams, parents, and students.
Interns coordinate case loads, conduct psycho-educational testing, interpret and summarize data, and facilitate multidisciplinary evaluation team (MET) meetings. Interns are expected have good communications skills, be highly motivated, well organized, and have basic working knowledge of psycho-metrics, and appropriate computer skills.

Supervision is typically scheduled weekly and is mostly provided face-to-face, and via phone/email when necessary.

The JO Combs district is located in San Tan Valley, AZ (Pinal County) which is located approximately 60 minutes from central Phoenix. Interns should be aware of this in relation to where they live and to consider for possible commuting.
