I perform following job duties.

  • Here I worked in master rebuild centre so when engine arrive in workshop I have to steam cleaned engine.
  • After steam cleaned engine I have to complete dismantle engine as per Cummins procedure I dismantle all the parts of engines like turbo charger water pump, oil pumps,aftercooler, governor, fuel pump, injectors, flywheel, flywheel housing, front cover and gear train, cam shaft , rocker cover, rocker housing , cylinder head etc.
  • After that I have to clean all the parts for cleaning I have to use acid tank for steel parts and light acid tank for aluminum parts that I have to put minimum 8 hours in tank. after I have to steam cleaned all the parts.
  • after steam clean I have to blow off all parts and take to the plant rooms for proper cleaning like gaskets, threads, and surface, for that I have to use buffing machine, thread tap, drill machine boring tools etc. in the plant room I have to use personnel protective equipment lime ear muffs, face mask and apron.
  • After cleaning of parts like block I have to measure block, crankshaft, camshaft, gears, piston and liners for wear.
  • Needed parts to be order to store.
  • After arrive new parts i have to start assembly of engine.
  • Installed cam bushes, crank shaft, liners, oil coolers, plugs necessary gallery, installed piston and conrod assembly as per Cummins standard procedure ,

Installed piston cooling nozzles, torque up conrod as per specification, installed flywheel housing, front housing and gear train, check backlashes,endlay, installed camshaft

and measure endplay of cam shaft, cylinder head, rocker levers, exhaust manifold, rocker levers, front seals, rear seals, installed flywheel, barring device, cam followers,

Injectors and do valve setting as per Cummins specified procedure. all bolts torque up as per manuals. Installed all accessories like water pumps, fuel pumps, oil pumps, oil

Pan, after coolers etc.

  • After finishing of assembly i have to test engine on dynamometer. run engine on dyno as per Cummins procedure to check the performance of engine.
  • Some on dyno I have to face problems that I have to correct step by step Cummins trouble shootings.
  • After finishing I have to steam clean engine for paint engine. I paint engine as per OEM color code.
  • After final inspection i have to put the quality tags for dispatch.
  • Here I am working various models like Series N,M,L,V,K,KV,QSK19,QST30,QSK45,QSK60,B,C,SIGNATURE,ISC,ISQ ECT
  • I did Welding of damaged piping, fabrication of base rail for chassis repairing of damaged housing. Bearing rollover job Etc.

I WAS PERFORMING FOLLOWING OF JOB DUTIES

  • I was commissioning of caterpillar engines for various application like gensets, dumpers, dozers, excavator, rod rollers, skid rollers, loaders, backhoe loader, pavers all construction machinery manufactured by caterpillar.
  • Inspection before starting the engine.
  • General: I checked engine accessories mountings for damage loss ness and correct it. Check endplay, belt tension adjust if it necessary.
  • Fuel system: I drained sediments, from fuel tank and water separator, remove air from fuel system like priming of fuel system.
  • Cooling system: Check coolant level , radiator pressure cap, PH and PPM. Check hoses and pipes.
  • Lube oil system: I checked lube oil level add up to 'H' mark if necessary. Record brand and grade of oil.
  • Air system: I checked air cleaner any damage proper sealing of piping and air cleaner mounting, check vacuum indicator of heavy duty for high dusty condition.
  • Inspection for while operating engine: I record water temperature, oil pressure, abnormal sound and any external leakage functioning of all gauges. Vibration of engines.
  • Assembling and disassembling of caterpillar engines: complete dismantle as per caterpillar manual procedure use special tools.

Assembly procedure as per Cummins procedures for example engine accessories like fuel pump, water pump, oil pump, injectors, turbocharger, hydraulic pump, compresor, fan hub, crankshaft, piston, liners, and connecting rods using special tools and guides as per caterpillar procedure.

  • Trouble shooting: I attended so many problems in caterpillar engines like high water temperature, engine not starting, black smoke, white smoke, high fuel consumption, engine not taking load etc. that i have to use trouble shooting chart. For electronic engines like ACERT TECHNOLOGY I have to use electronic tools for injector cut out test. Its software base tools called electronic tool.
  • I have to take some time oil sample for analysis of oil like we have to check viscosity, alkali test, water in oil test, metal particles check etc.
  • Servicing of caterpillar engines: I did preventing job like change oil, oil filters, fuel filters, water separator change. did valve and injector synchronization. As per caterpillar manual procedure. I worked on caterpillar models like 3010, 3310 3210 3406, 3412, 3512,3516, C4.4,C6.6,C9,C12,C15,C18,C24,C32Repairing of caterpillar engines : I repair engine fitted accessory like turbocharger, water pump, oil pump, fan hub, cylinder head, acc, drives, governors, fuel pump, injectors etc. by using different type of machines like fuel pump testing stand , injector calibration test hydraulic press etc.
  • Worked on Trencher (Vermeer) work on offshore (Rig, platform) Equipment like crane engine, genset engine, fire engine etc.

I was performing the following job duties:

  • I was commissioning engines manufactured by GE JENBACHER AUSTRIA gas engines from 500 hp to 2500 hp. I have to assemble all water piping and air piping as per GE JENBACHER PID diagrams. And check all the pipes as sizes and installed gas lines and valves and regulators like prepressure valves, ZPRV Valves.
  • Inspection before starting the engine.
  • General: I checked engine accessories mounting for damage loss ness and correct it.
  • Fuel system: I checked gas pressure and leakage for using soap solvent, check gas filter.
  • Cooling system: checked coolant level and PH AND PPM as per specification of jenbacher. All pipes and three-way valves for leakages.
  • Lube oil system: I check lube oil level up to'H' mark and check brand and grade of oil some I have to check viscosity by viscous meter.
  • Air system: I checked air cleaner any damage or proper sealing of air lines.
  • Inspection while operating the engine: I check water temperature, oil pressure, differential pressure for air filter, percentage of throttle valve, Exhaust temperature per cylinder in Diane screen. and check for external leakage also. After stabilize exhaust temperature I put the load.
  • Assembling and Disassembling of Jenbacher engines : Assembly as per jenbacher specification for example engine accessories like water pump, oil pump, turbocharger, intercooler, throttle valve and engine internal parts like rocker shaft and levers, pushrods, crossheads, cylinder head, pistons, lines by using special tools of jenbacher.
  • Trouble Shooting : In jenbacher gas engines many times problem of engine not taking load , exhaust temp is high, dropping of turbocharger pressure, high water temperature, oil consumption, engine surging, not starting engine I have to troubleshoot problems as per jenbacher procedure.
  • Servicing of jenbacher gas engines: In jenbacher engines there is a maintenance scheduled like 2k (2000 hrs), 10k, 20k, 30k and 60k maintenance. in 2k maintenance I have to do valve setting, adjust spark plug gap, replace oil filter, replace oil, clean air cleaner, clean gas filter

In 10k maintenance I have to replace gas, oil and air filter, replace throttle valve bushing, adjust valve clearance, set spark plug gap, replaced gas prefilter. Clean gas mixture Valve.

Replace turbocharger repairing kit like bushings and oil rings and o-rings.

In 20k maintenance is same like 10k only I have to remove intercooler and clean by using cleaning agents specified by jenbacher and replace spark plugs.

In 30k maintenance all I have to do like 10k maintenance but there is I have to replace liner and piston, piston rings, check connecting rod bend and twist by using special tools,

Also need to replace connecting rod bearings and cylinder head valve guide and valve rotors. Replacing of water pump seals. Check pushrods for bends.

In 60k maintenance all as per 30k maintenance and more is need to remove engine from base rail and inspection of crank shaft if found some scoring, hardness seize then I

Have to replace crank shaft otherwise refit again with new bearings. Means in 60k maintenance need to do complete overhauling of engine.

  • There is difference between maintenance of natural gas engines and biogas engines. Like need to do 2k maintenance early at 1k hours. I did all models of GE JENBACHER like series 212, 312, 316,320,412,416, 420, 612,616

  • I was commissioning of new engines for various application mainly in gensets, compressor, fire fighting pumps, Dozers, Loaders, Graders, And Locomotive etc. Inspection before starting the engine.
  • General: I checked engine accessories mounting for damage loss ness and correct it. Check endplay, belt tension if it necessary.
  • Fuel system: I drained sediment from fuel tank and from water separator.
  • Cooling system: Checked coolant level PH and PPM value check off hoses. Hose pipes for proper connections; Insure radiator cap is fixed and corrects it.
  • Lube oil system: I checked lube oil level add oil up ' H' mark if necessary record brand and grade of oil.
  • Air system: I checked air cleaner any damage proper sealing of piping and air cleaner, mounting vacuum indicator presence of heavy duty for high dusty condition.
  • Inspection while operating the engine: I recorded water temperature unusual sound check and leakage in system if found any problem correct it. Proper functioning of gauges and load trial the engines. Explained the Cummins channel of products support warranty terms and conditions.
  • Assembling and Disassembling of Cummins Engine 15 HP To 1340 Hp: I completed disassembly done as per Cummins procedure and use proper tools.

During assembly fitment, done as per Cummins procedure for Example engine accessories like P.T. Pump, turbocharger, water pump, fan hub, crank shaft, piston, piston rings,

Liners, Cylinder Head, Rockers Etc. with the help of torque wrench ans special tools like ring compressors etc.

  • Trouble Shooting: If any type of problem occurs during running I have to diagnose it’s step by step as per Cummins procedure. For Example High coolant Temperatures, not taking load, low lube oil pressure, engine failed to start, engine over speeding, high fuel consumption, high oil consumptions, diesel dilution with oil or with water, oil in water, water in oil, high smoke level like white, black , abnormal sound from engine, etc.
  • Servicing of Cummins engine: I did preventing job like change lube oil, oil filters, fuel filters, water filters, Air filters, engine tune up( valve and injector setting) as per Cummins procedure for various Cummins engine models like Series X,S,B,C,N,K,V,KV,Q. Overhauling of all types of model as per Cummins workshop manuals.
  • Repairing of Cummins Accessories: I repaired engine fitted accessories like turbocharger, water pump, fan hub, cylinder head, Accessory drive, Hydraulic Governor, Fuel Pump, injectors etc by using different kind of machines, tools and mandrels as per Cummins standards.
