Dr. Charles Lake is an NCS Senior Consultant, with specialties in Parent Church Planting and Discipleship. He has wide experience in both fields. He is also the founder of Growth Ministries, a discipleship training organization which has partnered with NCS to deliver NCS Resources & discipleship materials around the world.

In 1977 Dr. Lake planted an independent, interdenominational church in Greenwood, Indiana. During his 28 years of ministry there, the church planted 11 daughter congregations, 10 in the Greenwood area and one in Lexington, Kentucky. The daughter churches have, in turn, planted 10 congregations in Indiana and Kentucky and 12 in the country of Brazil. The CommunityChurch network now numbers 32 congregations. One of his greatest passions is in seeing the kingdom of God expanded through the planting of new congregations.

During his pastoral ministry, Dr. Lake authored Discipleship Training: An Experiencein Training and Accountability. The material, consisting in 10 nine-week levels ofsmall group discipleship training, is being used by churches throughout the US andCanada. It has been translated into 6 different languages. Recently, the Salvation Armyadopted the program as their tool for making disciples world-wide. In a joint effort withDr. Lake, the Salvation Army is further translating the material into different languages of the world to make the material available as widely as possible.

Prior to becoming pastor at CCG, Dr. Lake served for eight years with OMS International, a mission organization with World Headquarters in Greenwood. During that ministry he lived one year in Australia and spoke extensively in the countries of New Zealand, British Isles, South Africa and Canada. Before coming to OMS he pastored for eight years at the WorldGospelChurch in Terre Haute, Indiana, a church known for its outstanding missions emphasis.

During his 28-year ministry at CommunityChurch the annual mission budget exceeded a half a million dollars, and the network of Community Churches gave over $1.2 million annually. Dr. Lake is involved annually in overseas speaking engagements which have included national pastor's conferences, missionary retreats and church dedications.

Dr. Lake also serves as an Adjunct Seminary Professor, teaching in the US and abroad in the fields of preaching and church administration. Having previously served with a missions sending agency, he is a frequent speaker in missions conferences and to missionaries overseas. Dr. Lake has earned the following degrees: an AB from AsburyCollege; an M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary; an MA from ButlerUniversity; a D.Min. from Asbury Theological Seminary.

Dr. Lake and his wife, Vicki, reside in Greenwood, IN. They have two married daughters, Kim and Kara.
