NA-001 Identity and Recognition

Name:

The name isthe National Aerospace Non-Destructive Testing Board of Australia Incorporated (NANDTB), hereafter referred to in procedures as the “Board”.

Objects:

(a) The NANDTB is an independent national aerospace organisation incorporated in Victoria.It is chartered by the principal participants of the Australian aerospace industry, and recognised by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority to provide oversight and recognition of employer based NDT qualification and examination programs, in accordance with EN 4179, NAS-410 and AS3669.

(b) To provide support to the Regulator (CASA) to advance and promote aircraft safety through the correct application of NDT in aircraft maintenance.

(b) To act as a reference point for industry in matters relating to the practice of non-destructive testing (NDT) in the fabrication, maintenance and overhaul of aircraft structures, power plants, systems and components. This includes the review of employer’s written practice, and setting standards for the introduction of new technologies not covered by existing standards.

(c) To provide support to Standards Australia at their request with respect of the formulation and revision of NDT related standards.

(d) To cooperate and reciprocate with other NANDTBs for mutual recognition of approved employer based training and approval programs.

(e) The objects of the Board may be altered by a motion to do so supported by a majority of members, however the role of the Board as described in the standards shall be retained.

Finance:

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has entered into a Funding Deed of Agreement with the Board to support the Board’s activities. The work of the Board is undertaken voluntarily. Members receive no remuneration or honoraria, however they are entitled to recover legitimate costs in accordance with the Deed and the Board’s financial procedures.

If the Board is contracted to undertake work on behalf of another entity, a written agreement for the recovery of any associated costs shall be made between the entity and the Board before the work is undertaken. The Board is entitled to recover its costs. The Board may generate income from the provision of services or events.

Any individual member obligations under relevant Federal and State taxation legislation, as they may apply to the business of the Board, shall be met by that member. For the purposes of the Associations Incorporation Act and Regulation, the Board’s financial year is the consecutive twelve months from 1 July to 30 June, and the books of account are held by the Secretary-Treasurer at SAB2/8 Qantas Airways Sydney 2020.

Winding up:

At the time of winding up, any assets belonging to the Board shall be disposed of as resolved by a motion on this subject raised at the final meeting of the Board.

Indemnity of Members:

The members of the Board, the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary and members of committees and sub-committees duly elected, or appointed or co-opted thereto, acting in relation to any of the affairs of the Board, and every one of them and every

one of their Executors, Administrators and Trustees, shall be indemnified and held

harmless by the Board against all actions, costs, charges, losses, claims, demands

and expenses which they or any of them or their Executors, Administrators and Trustees shall or may incur or sustain by or by reason of any act done, concurred in or omitted, in or about the execution of their duty or supposed duty in their respective offices, except such (if any) as anyone or more of them shall incur or sustain by or through his or their own wilful neglect or default; and none of them shall be answerable for the acts or defaults of the other or others of them, or for any loss, misfortune or damage which may happen in the execution of their respective offices, or in relation thereto, except the same shall happen by or through their own wilful neglect or default respectively.
