Dear Parents,

My name is Mrs. Joy Konyeaso and I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Reading and Math specialist. I will be partnering with Mrs. Donna Rousseau. Many of you know me as the 3rd grade Aide with Ms. Baker from last school year, where I enjoyed working with students in small group instructions and also on one on one. I am however very excited to take on this new position.

As a mother of three young boys, I love to nurture and see children succeed, encouraging them and giving them the tools necessary to reach their maximum potential. I have a National Certificate in Education from University of Ibadan, Nigeria; a Bachelors degree in Economics from UMass Boston and a Masters degree in Elementary Education from Wheelock College in Boston. I love reading, cooking, spending time with my family and especially attending my children’s extra- curricular activities.

I believe that every student has a unique and different way of learning. It is important to know each student by finding out where they need the most help and knowing what works best for each student. Some students are visual learners or are sensory learners, some learn through repetition, and others students need breaks or redirection. I think that this is important to help each student reach their “mile stones”.

I look forward to working with your children and building confidence in their abilities through learning. If you have any questions for me, please send me an email. I look forward to an exciting year.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Joy Konyeaso
