My EBSCOhost: How to Set Up a Personal Account within EBSCOhost

My EBSCOhost is a personal area that you can create within the EBSCOhost database platform. When using EBSCOhost to search in databases such as ERIC, Academic Search Premier, PsycInfo, PsycArticles, etc., you can sign in to access your personal area. Within this personal area, you can save search results (article citations, abstracts, and links to full text) you would like to be able to access in future EBSCOhost sessions.
While you do not need to sign in to conduct searches or print articles, you do need to sign in if you want to save items and to access them at some time in the future when you use theEBSCOhost databases.
To set up a My EBSCOhost account, take the following steps:

 Go to the Kean University Library homepage at

Click Articles & More to access the Databases page.

Click the letter E on the alphabeticalJump to menu.

 Click EBSCOhost Research Databases. [If you are off-campus, type your Kean Library Barcode in the log-in box.]

 Click EBSCOhost Web.

Select a database or databases -- such as ERIC and/or Academic Search Premier -- from the list of databases provided.

 Click Continue.

Click Sign In to My EBSCOhosttoward the top right-hand corner of the screen.

 Click I’m a new user.

 Fill out the Create a new account form, then click Submit.

 Use the Basic Search or Advanced Search forms to search for articles and documents on your research topic.

 Any items on your search results list may be added to your My EBSCOhost folder by clicking the Add to folder button just below the item’s citation.

 Items added to your My EBSCOhost folder may be accessed by clickingFolder toward the top right-hand corner of the screen.

To access yourMy EBSCOhost account in the future, follow the steps listed above to access databases such as ERIC or Academic Search Premier.

Click Sign In to My EBSCOhosttoward the top right-hand corner of the screen.

 Fill out the User Name and Password boxes, then click Login.

 ClickFolder toward the top right-hand corner of the screento access articles and documents that you added to your My EBSCOhost account during previous research sessions.

***** Please Note: If you forget to sign in to My EBSCOhostat the beginning of a searching session, any items that you add to your folder during that session (by clicking the Add to folder button) will not be saved for future access.
